Another thing was that they had the junior and senior men skate in the same group because there is only one participant in the junior mens competition. So during practice and warm-up there were 6 people on the ice instead of the 5 listed on the event page.

At least on my phone he went totally out of frame on the axel, so can't say anything about that. The lutz was a shame, but at least he didn't fall. Overall the quality of the video was, well… poor, so it's really hard to comment anything.

And I don't think he was that tired, maybe more so pissed out about the performance.
Hopefully he can somewhat deliver it on the free.

The video is the same quality as the live stream unfortunately. Maybe the guy who was recording it at rink side will upload it online eventually.

Yes, at least he didn't fall. Which is good. Maria had a bad fall on her 2A. Poor girl.

It was probably was a 3A, the score is not low enough for it to be a double. He lost points elsewhere besides the combo.

There are also no photos from the mens competition (yet) but hopefully there will be of the prize ceremony.

(Sasha is the skater with the white patch on his left shoulder)

Edit:
Not sure about Maria since her combo was out of sight but all other Mishin students did a 3-2 (Not on purpose).

When is the FS going to start? (or did it start already)

And btw I really had hard time finding Sasha in the warm up, because he looked smaller than I thought. But of course, his skating is so distinctive that you really can identify him by that.

Yeah his skating is really distinctive. :)

Officially the mens FS starts in 25mins but they are running behind time. Ice resurfacing has just finished and they will start the senior ladies FS. After that will be the men.

He really fought for every jump. I'm glad he didn't fall.
Even with the blots, the program looks really beautiful, especially after all the others have skated.

There have been so many moments over the last 2 days that I've just felt like :palmf: after reading news/developments about this competition. So I'm kind of glad it's finally over.

Sasha survived the "2 programs in 5 hours"/"4 programs in 8 days"/"30hrs-4 stopovers plane flight" experience without falling even once during his programs.
That's some kind of willpower!

And that's a quality that will stand him in very good stead going forward.

Gosh, I really wish there was a journalist there to interview him after the competition. You know he never minces his words in interviews.

Okay my thoughts on this "unique" experience as a fan watching a live stream that is this far away from rink level. Because interestingly, there are things that stand out more from a distance than up close!

1.Sasha's fast rotation is really obvious from the live cam. With the other guys you can discern the number of rotations in their jumps but with Sasha it's impossible.

2.The quality of his LP. His SS, the stsq, the body movement (both upper and lower but especially the arms), his flow over the ice, all much superior to the other men. It's not packed full of transitions but there were no "vacant" periods in the program where the skater didn't do anything that was linked to the music.
