Alexander Petrov

They are doing SP run-throughs now.

Edit:
He did not attempt his full jump layout, as usual. Axel consciously singled and he only did a 2F. But he did do his lutz combo although a little off balance.

Actually after yesterday's session, I thought he would skip this. This is already his THIRD session whereas for everyone else it's only the first. I'm sure he is tired. Today I think he went a little easier, hopefully anyway. There's still an early session tomorrow morning where he'll get to do his SP run-through again.

Edit:
My main concern really is fatigue.

Edit2:
Yesterday when I first started watching he was having a serious conversation with Mishin and the team doctor was right behind Mishin and Prokofieva. I didn't catch what went on before that so I have no idea what to make of it. He was not really moving very well immediately after that but then he slapped down several clean jumps including 3A-3T and 3F-1L-3S. And then they started (or continued?) to work on the quads. The broadcaster aired some other footage in between so I missed the last few mins of the session too.

The draw has been made. Sasha will be the 9th skater to start his SP. The fourth skater in group 2.

More to add about today's practice. Run-through aside, he was landing his jumps. So that layout during the run-through, basically just his standard "focus on choreo" run-through.

Mens practice has started. Sasha will be taking to the ice in the second group in about 20mins. So he should be warming up off-ice now.

Good luck, Sasha.:) I hope he has a productive training session that sets him up well for the competition today.

Practice went more or less the same as yesterday. He has no intention to insert a quad in his SP so there was no real need to drill anything.
It's too bad that I didn't get to watch the entire session on the 6th. Well, my fault for not checking the stream earlier. Although to be fair to me, it was dinner time for me.

It's good that he had another relatively light session. No sense in expending too much energy at this point.
Mens SP starts at 2pm. I hope Skater01 will be there.

I'm currently on my way there. So unless there is something unexpected on the road, I'll be there!

He probably also lost levels in spins and maybe that stsq too. Jumps aside, this wasn't as good as Nebelhorn.

Edit:
It will also be interesting to compare the PCS breakdown here and at Nebelhorn. Especially now that judging is not anonymous.

Sasha, come on, you can do it. Just focusssssssssss!

This is most definitely a good learning lesson for him.

Yes, he did feel - relatively to how he usually is - distracted, and hence, no doubt, the mistakes crept in. Tomorrow I hope he can re-focus, and concentrate on himself & his peformance, and things will take care of themselves. Of course, he probably has the quad to think of, but we saw at Nebelhorn that he can pull himself together for the rest of the program even if he misses that, so, best of luck with the quad - but keep it together for the rest of the program, as well, Sasha! We know you can do it - we've seen it.:)
