Maybe he will make a new costume, maybe he won't. But either way, at least people can watch his SP without cringing now.
Sabre Dance has good potential I think. There is much more actual choreography in this than the Remix thing. I'm not sure why they wasted all that time on the Remix thing, time that could have been spent on a new FS. Oh well.

Strange day today. I'm sort of happy because of the new/original program but yet a little sad that he couldn't show what he's capable of.

Honestly, I don't even care about the mistakes today - that program was beautiful in my eyes, and Sabre Dance is now music to my ears.:) The season is saved. I actually liked the music cuts - it was a relief not to have the relentless same-same-same that one often gets with Sabre Dance. The calmer lull in the middle made the end part more effective, I felt. It looked great even with the mistakes, and it will only keep on looking better & better with more mileage. I can't wait.:)

The universal reaction to the change of program has been "Thank God". I am very serious.

Btw, two of my favourite FS photographers are at Finlandia. YesWay and Margarita Voronkovskaya.

This obviously wasn’t a good program, but it’s still a promising start. Besides the jumps I feel like this is the Sasha we were missing last season. He had pretty good speed throughout the program and the jumps were quite high again. So I think when his jumps are working again (no doubt they will) the program will be really good.

He had energy. I felt it from his performance. Like you said, if skated clean, it will be good.

Ksenia Fomina and Mihail Sharov are also at Finlandia. There are going to be many photos from this event.

If he does make a new costume for Sabre Dance, I hope it is in RED. Red and black would be nice.

Let's not forget that he also changed skates in August to one with a noticeably higher heel. That must take some time to get used to.

Too sleepy to stay up and wait for the FS starting order. But he will be somewhere in the second group. Videos are uploaded pretty fast so we should get to see his FS within an hour of it actually taking place.

Group 2 is scheduled to warmup at 5.56pm and Sasha is scheduled to skate at 6.11pm. Youtube videos should be up not long after that.

@adelia - It seems your inbox is full. I can post my reply here, though:

Apropos Sabre Dance:

Yes, I know.:) How I moaned & groaned.;) And now I could almost weep for gratitude that he's skating to the previously-despised Sabre Dance. Well, that atrocious medley from the infernal regions could probably have reconciled me to... most things. And this actually looks good. I'm quite happy to admit that I was wrong - very, very wrong.:) Ugh, the sheer relief of getting shut of That Thing!

And yes, I agree. I too thought he looked faster. If he had been skating slow to that music it would have been very noticeable - jarringly so.

And I've cleared my inbox.

If Mishin had not changed his SP back to Sabre Dance, I would never have forgiven him for the Remix thingy. I am not afraid to say this.

Mishin gave an interview to Rsport. Sasha has been sick, he was only discharged from hospital last Saturday. That explains why they were not surprised at his falls. But why did they not stop him from coming to Finland. He should be at home resting.
FYI, it was not an injury.

Edit:
Mishin also said he was one of the best Russians yesterday. Well, jumps aside, indeed he was.
