He's entered into Golden Spin and the men's SP has begun - though I have no idea of how things are going, I believe Sasha isn't due to skate for a while yet. Anyway, good luck, and hoping there will be video. And results... eventually.:)

Glad to see you, adelia.:)

He looked far more his old self than he has hitherto this season - hopefully he is on the mend, and we'll be able to see him as we're used to.:)

Sorry about the hiatus. I've been trying to adjust to my new full-time job while still working part-time on weekends. I'm just getting into the rhythm of things so updates will be getting a little more frequent from now onward.

Well, there hasn't been much happening lately, so what better time to take a break? You clearly have a lot on your plate just now; I'm glad you are starting to adjust to it.

Sasha's FP:

His free program score was 146.15, which gave him a total of 220.59; 7th in the free skate & 8th overall. So some progress, but not quite back to where he used to be.
Thank you
And I agree with your assessment as well.
I think he's lost some physical strength since 18 months ago. So I hope they can do something about that. Better nutrition, more time in the weights room and generally just taking better care of his overall condition.

Next competition for Sasha is of course Russian Nationals, from 19-24 Dec. That's in less than 3 days.

Schedule
19 Dec: Arrival of sportsmen
20 Dec: Training at 12.35pm, Official draw at 8pm
21 Dec: Mens Short Program at 2pm
22 Dec: Mens Freeskate at 4.50pm
24 Dec: Gala at 2pm

For 20 Dec, he will be in group 2 of the mens training session, with Erokhov, Samoilov, Savosin, Zuber and Dmitriev.

Hopefully there will be a reliable live stream.

I think this will be a hard competition to watch. But good luck to Sasha.

Sorry about the lack of updates, I was at work, just got home a couple hours ago.

Here are some photos from the draw and from the SP:

Thanks for updating, LRK!

To be honest, not unexpected from Sasha. He's had poor health and poor form all season long. And probably was more nervous because of that.
But I hope he can skate without tension in the FS. Just go out there and do his best.

It's a knee injury that occurred as a result of his ankle injury.
Basically, he can't jump at all now.

Happy New Year!

It's a bit late but I was working throughout Christmas and New Year's Day so I forgot to drop by.

I hope 2018 will be a better year for Sasha and a better year for all of us. :)
