Alexandra Trusova

Really? No one has still not brought the video of historical skate with four quads? it’s easy to get used to good things, who knows when we will see this again.

Thanks. In this recording i can actually (almost) hear what Sasha was saying to Deniss in K&C.

Sasha: I just wanted to have TES over 100 and it is 2 points under again. Last time it was 2 points under with 3 quads, and now, with 4 it all the same. It is not fair.
Deniss: (facepalm)

Awwww don't worry Sasha, you will get over 100 soon. We believe in you!! :clapper:

I thought that she looked disappointed when she saw her score :(

Here is my take at it

Aleksandra Trusova's Dragons

October 5 was the day of a new historical event in the world of figure skating. At her debut performance in the Japan Open team competition, Aleksandra Trusova landed four quadruple jumps. The two star pupils of Eteri Tutberidze and her coaching staff, part the brilliant quartet "4 Aces" were able to reduce the backlog of the European team, which stood at almost 58 points after the men's performance, and as a result, they jumped ahead of their nearest rivals - the Japanese team - by more than 12 points.

On this day, Aleksandra broke her own record - three quadruple jumps in one program, set just two weeks ago at a B series tournament - the Ondrei Nepela memorial in Bratislava (the broadcast of which was so ugly that I didn’t have any way to disassemble the artistic side of the programs).
That's why I decided to postpone the analysis until the competition in Japan. It would seem that three quadruples - like three dragons - are a more than formidable weapon that cannot be countered with any component score. But Aleksandra Trusova has a dream that does not allow her to stop there. A dream to learn and perform all quadruple jumps. And, like the heroine of her free program, Alelsandra knows how to make her dreams come true.

Make the impossible possible.

Daenerys Targaryen - one of the key characters in the series of books "Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin and its film adaptation in the series "Game of Thrones." I will start with this reservation that I am not a fan of the series, I was more impressed with the books, which, as you know, are not yet finished, so the end of Daenerys' story in the books is not yet known. In the books, the heroine goes from a battered, exiled, humiliated princess to a strong, brave leader of entire nations, cruel and vengeful to her enemies, but not losing mercy and even some naivety. Her main treasure and main weapon are three dragons, whom she helped to be born and whom she considered her children. The author describes her appearance as unusually, almost supernaturally attractive - and Aleksandra, with her incredibly long light blond curls and transparent blue eyes, really plays this role.

The skater’s dress was inspired by, but does not copy Daenerys' outfits in the series: I believe this is dictated by the wishes of Aleksandra herself: in the past few seasons, she has worn tight-fitting costumes, not constraining her movements, like a “second skin”. In the series, from season to season, Daenerys’s images are becoming heavier, more complex, so exactly copying them could make the costume uncomfortable.

At the same time, in the outfit created for Alexandra, the image of the warlike queen is still clear: a rich burgundy colour, an unusual “broken” neckline, triangular and diamond-shaped inserts on the top of the dress and sleeves that look like armour with rhinestones on the shoulders.

These motifs can be found in Daenerys outfits: (links to pictures and clips)

- Shoulder trim

- Symmetrical cuts on the front of the skirt:

- This dress, it seems to me, was generally taken as the basis for the cut of the upper part of Aleksandra's dress:

The program is set to music from the last season of the series, respectively, never before used in figure skating: the song "Pray" by the lead singer of Muse and "The Night King" by the main composer of the series, Ramin Javadi. The choreography of the program contains a number of allusions to the story of the character being represented: the first movements refer to the scene of the birth of dragons and Daenerys rebirth from the ashes - a kneeling girl rises and releases little dragons from her hands, in the background the Red Priestess pronounces the words of prayer.

Further on, after the technical part of the program: three quads and a double axel, follows a combination spin which leads into a pose, continuing the theme of prayer, accompanied by a change of music:

In the steps sequences, Aleksandra “fights” her invisible enemies.

And finally, the climax on the final chord - the heroine releases the dragons and commands "Fire!"

By the way, let's pay attention to the reworked rotation in the layback spins, after which Aleksandra now has enough time to show a spectacular ending, and she didn't look crumpled. I think that during the season we will see many more such reworkings and improvements, thanks to which the program will turn from a technical masterpiece into a full-fledged masterpiece. Already, this is a demonstration of her strength, a demonstration of the possibilities this skater continues to build up contrary to expectations, developing not only the technical, but also the artistic side of her talent.

Aleksandra's artistry is her unbridled energy, the limit of which is clearly not yet reached. Choosing strong, even warlike images, the coaching staff turns this energy into an advantage, a characteristic feature that sets her apart from other skaters. Yes, this is power skating, but do we know any other women who can demonstrate such skating, and even at this technical level?

This girl will never skate like Carolina Kostner. Because she is not Carolina Kostner. She is Aleksandra Trusova. Unique and one of a kind.

Many thanks for this blog, it shows there is much more in Aleksandra and her trainers that we still haven't discovered.

Trusova is the Goddess. She performed 4 quads in the one program and is not afraid of Zagitova and Medvyedeva

Valeria Kukaleva Aleksandra has completed another historic achievement at the Japan Open commercial tournament.

Every year at the beginning of October, the Japan Open is organised for the Japanese people who love figure skating: an unusual team tournament involving only skaters from the singles disciplines. Three teams competed: Europe, Japan and North America, in each team - two girls and two men. Each shows only their free program, the scores are added up and the winning team is revealed.

In the 2019/20 season, the organizers invited two pupils of Eteri Tutberidze for the European team - the most titled Alina Zagitova and the quadruple jumping master Aleksandra Trusova, who began her first senior season. The lineups were approved a long time ago, and after the first competitions it turned out that the former and current world record holders were going to Japan - Sasha surpassed Alina's last year’s achievement at the Ondrei Nepela memorial. For the men, Europe was represented by the current (and seven-time) continental champion Javier Fernandez, who had already finished his career, and the beloved pupil of Stephan Lambiel - Latvian Denis Vasiliev.

Japan Open is a commercial tournament: personal bests from it are not registered in the ISU system, world records do not count, and Fernandez goes on the ice again. The American team also had returnees - Mirai Nagasa - the first American to land a triple Axel at the Olympics.

In any case, the Russian girls should have saved Europe: Fernandez maintains his shape more like a fan now, Vasiliev lands and twists the quadruple Toeloop only on major holidays, the triple Axel (which his trainer Lambiel did not like) is a little more often. And in other teams there were titled quadists Nathan Chen, Vincent Zhou and Syoma Uno.

That's exactly what happened. Chen scored under 190 with four quads, Zhou received competitive 167.64 points, Uno - 169.09. His compatriot Koshiro Simada scored not the highest 153.37, but still beat both Europeans: Fernandez was put in hundredths less, Vasiliev did not break even this modest bar of 150. The girls needed to win back 22.67 points from the Japanese and 57.68 from the North Americans .

Third starting number, Trusova appeared on the ice in the image of the Mother of Dragons from 'Game of Thrones' and made a real dracarys from everyone: for the first time in the history of women's single skating four (!!!) quads were performed in a free program. Solo Salchow - for the first time since the 2017/18 season, solo Lutz, quadruple Toeloop in a cascade with a triple and another Toeloop in a cascade with an Euler and a triple Salchow.

Nathan Chen himself returned to admire Alexandra's quads in his IG Story: he watched her skating run on TV under the stands and recorded two quadruple jumps on video, expressing respect to the girl who almost beat him in technical terms (Sasha will not be able to get close to men in terms of components) for girls, these are calculated at a lower factor.

And they gave Trusova low marks. 160.53 was less than in Nepela with three quads (163.78). 158.50 - Zagitova's old world record, set without ultra-si elements - only with a cascade of triple Lutz-triple Rittberger. But you should not take this commercial tournament seriously: different competitions are judged by different judges, and if in Nepela two weeks ago the good-natured referees pleased everyone with high marks, then in Japan they showed strictness: not even Riki Kihira, the contestant most loved by the spectators, which did two triple axels got the highest score.

But Zagitova was judged as loyally as possible - without elements of increased complexity and with a Rittberger cascade in the first half, she received 154.41 points. In Alina’s favour worked her competitive record with many its titles, a more meaningful skating (yes, the most mature female) and her reputation in Japan: the skater’s favourite pet is Akita Inu Masaru, and they are almost on friendly terms with the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

At a Japanese commercial tournament, these results should not be taken seriously: the first really important confrontation between Zagitova and Trusova can take place in the Grand Prix finals in early December, if both even get there, because for now Sasha needs to beat Yevgeniya Medvyedeva in both stages.

Here and Now, at the Japan Open, the girls coped: conquered the Japanese and North American women, conquered the European men and pulled themselves into first place in the team tournament.

1. The European team (Zagitova, Trusova, Vasiliev, Fernandez) - 614.73 points
2. The national team of Japan (Kihira, Miyahara, Shimada, Uno) - 602.16
3. The team of North America (Tennell, Nagasu, Zhou, Chen) - 593.42.

Aleksandra Trusova enjoys her own achievements and constantly wants to improve. She needs not to look back at Zagitova and Medvyedeva, not directly in front of her, at Shcherbakova with her quad Lutz, but further ahead, where 14-year-old American Alisa Liu follows in her footsteps in the juniors. Liu has so far only a triple Axel and one quad, but a year of age difference can be spent on learning the remaining ultra-si elements.

In fact Sasha is a very simple girl. If quad quads are not enough for her to win, she will learn a Flip or a Rittberger, or maybe both jumps at once. The ongoing story concerning triksels should also end with a happy ending: Trusova is unlikely to tolerate that someone else is doing what she herself doesn't know how to do.

Yesterday, fans of Yevgeniya Medvyedeva launched a flash mob on a Russian-language Twitter and brought the hashtag #MedvedevBogina to the first place. It's time for a new one. Trusova - Goddess.

Best clips so far with Aleksandra's spectacular record breaking routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk_wrS3GF8I and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XExl0S_vcmY

Clearly visible are her concentration, determination, intimidation when glaring at the judges.

And just marvel at her speed, the power and height in her jumps. The audience held its breath, one can hear the blades, but there is no excessive scraping noise, Sasha's command over her skating is quite perfect.

Skating in front of this huge appreciative crowd must give Aleksandra so much energy, and the crowd knows they have watched something truely historic, the likes of which we might never see again.

Indeed it seems like she complains about her score to Denis, wishing for breaking that century mark ;-)

Download these clips and keep them in your archives to cherish forever!

Trusova - on the assessment for the technique at the Japan Open: “Last time I skated with three quadruples, and now with four - and the same thing. Not fair"

Two-time world champion among juniors Alexandra Trusova commented on her assessment for technique in the free program at the Japan Open tournament.

The Russian skater showed the best total result, gaining 160.53 points. For the technique, the judges gave her 97.51 points. Trusova performed four quadruple jumps: Salchow, Lutz and two cascades with a Toeloop.

“I actually wanted to go for 100 (points). The last time two weren’t enough, but I rode with three (quadruple) ones. And today with four - and again the same thing. It’s not fair,” Trusova said waiting for her grades.

Apparent some strong language was edited out ...
So Aleksandra is discontent, and will probably try to break the century mark and set her name in stone forever some other time?

:laugh2::rofl::laugh2::rofl:

Trusova is thought to win everything this year according to this collection of social media outings by non-Russians: https://sport24.ru/news/other/2019-...tagram-tvitter-biografiya-otzyvy-inostrantsev
Not really necessary to interpret, the tweets etc speak for themselves.

The last part are the words of TAT herself:

The position of Russian fans was voiced by the Merited Trainer of the USSR Tat'yana Tarasova in an interview with Sport24.

“We will have cosmic women's single skating, because there are Trusova and several more girls who light up the world figure skating.

Sasha determined the development of figure skating for the next hundred years in her program and by her jumping, which we can be proud of; no one in the world reaches such a level.

Trusova is our pride!” said Tarasova.
