Alexandra Trusova

So curiosity made me go back and watch it - here's Plushy's nightmare skate:

when he was of a similar age to what Alexandra is now. He came back from this (as they say "the rest is history"), and so will she. Have faith.

Some pictures of the one of the pluckiest, most determined skaters that I know of:

Her cantilever always wows me. The sheer strength she has in her core is astonishing.

She'll regroup and come back from yesterday's difficult skate. Very few athletes have perfect careers; for most there are ups and downs. Sasha is resilient, she's a risk taker, and she perseveres, and that's why we love her.

Also, I'm a little annoyed with myself - found a photo online yesterday from the middle of her free, where she was poised so beautifully on the tips of her skates, showing how far she has come in developing her ability to show more delicate movement this season, but I didn't post it, and didn't save the link either, and now I can't find it.

Does anyone know who choreographed Sasha's new exhibition programme?
Apart from her cantilever, I was also really impressed by that fan spiral. Hope we see it more in future!
I heard on Twitter it was Dima Mikhalov - Sasha's main coach at the moment. Not sure if this is true though.

I watched the exhibition skate and really loved it, very powerful. :) So if it was Dima M hats off to him!

Speaking of I realised I wasn't following him on Insta, so I did and here's his latest post 😊

Hmm, that would make sense to me - it's probably not Rozanov or Ilinykh given what we know about how training is organized now, and it does seem to have some Dima M vibes (how do I describe it - it looks like when his students (Titova, Sarnovsky, Muravieva) are skating, that they're actually tall people disguised as small kids :p) Something about the head/arm movements look a bit different to Rozanov's choreo, which feels stylistically a little closer to Danny G.

I guess we'll know for sure eventually when Sasha performs this programme again in future!

"Stumbling doesn't mean losing" - that was a nice post from him. Short but kind :giggle:

That exhibition skate was amazing. I adored the energy that came from it and the power.

the free skate was a heartbreak, but even the skaters who do not attempt the high risk out of this world content have troubled skates. Trusova has come-back energy and physical conditioning of a skater who stays in the competition for a long time. I think she demonstrates that she now has a mental fortitude as well to come back.

I hope she rests well and kicks some serious butt at the Nationals.

I saw today some in formation on the potential to hold the WC in a bubble, so there is a vague possibility that there will be an international climax to this season. If so, fingers crossed for Trusova. But, the Nationals first 🙏

Was idly browsing the Angels of Plushenko insta page, and came across a video of a cantilever lesson, posted a week ago, which shows how hard it is to balance and not fall over. And in the background, helping one of the skaters up after gravity and the ice claimed them, was a brief glimpse of the Cantilever Queen herself, hence the relevance for this thread!

Really random, but am I the only one here with a great desire to see Sasha become not only the quad queen of singles, but of pairs skating? Perhaps after 2022?

I think this is not the first time when someone came with the idea of Sasha in pairs. But you have to find adequate partner for her then
