As for Yagudin's school in Gorky Park, I didn't tell about it, because it wasn't even clear how much time he spent in it - he wasn't the only coach. Yet anyway this free school has been working indeed during last winter. It was free, it wasn't a school for the most talented kids. Any kids who just wanted to skate, could participate in this project. As far as I understand, the managers of Gorky Park asked Yagudin to do it - and he agreed.
Now he says they are going to open their own school. (maybe "we" means Yagudin and Totmianina) I didn't expect that. It seems Yagudin thinks, that a coach should spend much time with his students. It seemed he wasn't ready to do it.

Yagudin continues commenting figure skating for the Channel One. It is possible to say, that this is the most prestige TV-channel in Russia. He commented Skate Canada: men SP and men FS (together with Grishin), ladies SP and ladies FS (together with Tarasova and Grishin).

About men (FS):

https://www.1tv.ru/sport/gran-pri-f...gran-pri-po-figurnomu-kataniyu-sezona-2018-19

about Nam Nguyen:
G: Look, he has only 0.2 points more than Brown. /.../
Y: It's nice, that our viewers can't see astonishment on my face now. I'd say that's an outrage - when people with double jumps, even without... oh, OK, Brown tried to jump a quad... yet the difference with the man who has jumped 2 quads and executed all other elements on a high level... the difference is only a few points, as you say?
G: A few tenths.
Y: A few tenths. That's an outrage indeed!

G: It is interesting to note, that among 5 athletes who have performed, only Kevin Aymoz jumped 4T, the others didn't try. Why salchow is so popular now? Maybe it just so happened, that they skated one by one?
Y: You know, all the athletes had been jumping it from one leg for a long time, then started to jump from two legs. We remember an American skater Timothy Goebel who won a bronze medal at 2002 Olympics, he had a few 4S in his program. After that, by the way, I relearned salchow either - to jump from two legs. When I had learned it, I started to jump 4S. It was easy enough, yet I never tried to jump it at competitions. I guess I tried only once. I understood I could win with two 4T, I didn't want to risk. Salchow is jumped from two legs - what lets a skater do it more consistently - I think so.

G: It seems new rules are invented to let skaters perform more clean, yet we almost don't see clean skates. Maybe skaters should forget about quads, should follow Brown: jump triples and work on artistry?
Y: No, dear friends, let us don't look up to Brown. I guess it is the worst thing we can do now. Why don't we see clean skates? Well, this sport isn't easy, it's slippery.

about Samarin:
Y: Sasha breaths out - and we breath out. Well, there were some mistakes, we see, that many elements are questionable for the judges. Yet we see how Sasha bunched his fists showing that he is satisfied with his skate. I'd like to note he took a risk, he jumped 4 lutz, he has done it - with a small mistake, but he has done it. Quad lutzes are not performed often in our country. 4T with a minus too. We could see, that Sasha was fighting for every element. I wish... (I never advise, I think advising is a lowly employment. It is wrong to criticize an athlete, to criticize any person.) I wish Sasha could work more on his skating skills, on interpretation - those skills which Jason Brown has exercised so well.

Y: You speak about comparing the results, I look at those scores which the athletes have now, I see almost the same scores for artistry. Samarin has nearly the same scores with Nam Nguyen. Jason Brown has 9 points more than any of them (I guess we mention Jason Brown so often, that he will be hiccuping all night long) It means one can get high scores for his skating skills only, failing at the technical side to some degree, - and to be not far from the top.

Y: in Phchon... Phchonchkhan!
G: That's why I say: in South Korea.
Y: In South Korea.

G: The men presented us a phenomenal show in the free skating. It is sad, that the Russian athlete - Alexander Samarin - doesn't get a medal again (like there was no medal in pairs), he takes the 4th place. Like Boikova/Kozlovsky.
Y: Yet anyway Boikova/Kozlovsky made a very good impression, and Alexander Samarin did make a very good impression. We hope that he'll make his skating cleaner - and of course, will be able to fight for medals in future.

some comments by Tarasova, Yagudin and Grishin

about Alexander Majorov
Y: I'm really concerned about him, because he's like a brother for me, because his father was helping me to make my first steps in figure skating. Let's watch.
...
Y: I'm so happy, that he has coped with his emotion, - it is not easy to be the last to skate, you actually know the scores of other athletes, you've been waiting for a long time... we talked about that: some skaters like to be the first to skate, right after the warming up - you are warm and you go to skate, like you did it on your trainings.
T: Yes, I liked it when you were the first to skate.
Y: Yeah, the first or the second. Maybe it is difficult to be the last, because some time passes.
T: Especially in FS. You have to wait.
...
T: Well, what can I say? He has done a good toe loop. Right?
Y: A good, powerful jump. Unfortunately, the exit wasn't really clean, Tatiana Anatolievna.
T: Unfortunately, the exit. I guess he won't lose much: maybe two points.
Y: A point or two points.
T: He touched the ice... but it was a jump! Not a falling to nowhere. It was a quad. The axis on the axel wasn't really good, but I think he won't lose points. /.../
Y: You are right, Tatiana Anatolievna, he loses points only on the first quad. All other elements have "+".
T: "+1" or "+2" I guess.
Y: Besides the jumps, Tatiana Anatolievna, all the elements have level 4.
T: I'd like to mention his spins. His last combo was fast, he never spinned like this. I could see every position, could take a photo. It is really important. He did it long enough. His mom stands by his side now.
Y: Irina Majorova.
T: Yes, Ira Majorova. We cheer for him, of course, because...
Y: He is our mate.
T: He is our mate, yes. He is our mate. /.../
Y: He had a cleaner skate at another grand prix stage.

about Kolyada and Hanyu
Y: Misha Kolyada was not really successful at the previous grand prix stage, he spoiled his scores situation, now he needs to be the silver medalist at least - or to win this event. Then unfortunately he can only wait and see how the others will skate.
G: Yes, it will be hard to get to the grand prix final even with a silver medal, so it is better to win. Which law says actually, that it's impossible to beat Hanyu? Yes, he is very fit...
T: I say so!
G: You do, Tatiana Anatolievna?
T: Yes!
G: Yet we've seen...
T: Today it's impossible!
G: You've ruined our dreams.
Y: Sasha, I don't like to argue with Tatiana Anatolievna. That's an ungentle work.
G: I rarely dare as well.
Y: I agree, Tatiana Anatolievna, that now, of course, it is possible to fight against everyone, to try to fight against everyone, yet likely it is almost impossible to beat Yuzuru Hanyu.
T: You know, I think Yuzuru will jump 2 quads...
Y: Yes, he has 4S and 4T.
T: He doesn't think about rules which don't uphold quads. He thinks about figure skating development, development of challenging technic, of beauty - because his skating is also absolutely heavenlike. Do you see the difference? I don't want to speak about the start. Now Misha Kolyada jumped before me 1Lz, then two 2Lz, then 3Lz. Hanyu jumped 4T at once. With 3T.

about Morisi Kvitelashvili
T: Oh, I'm so glad! We all whooped. Congratulations to him. I believed in him, because he practices in such an outstanding group, he is such a nice guy. We are kinda friends. I've been observing for a long time how he was doing. Of course, they all are glad, because it is not often that he skates so clean. Yet every person has his good day. I believed in him. Congratulations to the Georgian Figure Skating Federation which didn't refuse to help him. We met this year, I was in Georgia, I was saying to you: "Help him a bit longer, and you'll receive the result from him." It was meant to happen. It is just happiness! He has done everything what was...
Y: planned.
T: planned. He skated the hardest variant of the program. He even had a quad in the second half.
Y: The hardest program for the moment.
T: His skating was perfect. Perfect for him. And for anyone else. He spinned... he was mindful. Congratulations to all the team.
Y: Congratulations to Morisi. He has showed a very beautiful skating indeed. We could even forget, that the guy can miss jumps sometimes. He is very tall, quads are difficult for tall skaters, but he manages to do it. We saw it in his SP today. We guess he'll become the leader for the moment.

about Hanyu
(before the skate)

Y: I'm extremely happy, that I can see this athlete skate with my own eyes, it is the first time in my life that I meet Yuzuru Hanyu.
G: Really?
Y: Yeah.
G: You shouldn't miss a single second of it.
(after the skate)
Y: I really can ask if it is true, (laughs) that I have lived up to this moment when I can see the two times Olympic champion perform. Tatiana Anatolievna, I'm an atheist, but this is a real figure skating god.
T: A real one, real one. Exactly. I just want to thank him, and Brian, and his country which has presented such a man of genius to all the world. We are amazed, we admire. I don't know what scores judges will give him. If I was a judge, I'd give pluses without grudging them, because it can happen so, that otherwise never in their lives they will have a chance to give 5 pluses. Never. And they never will enjoy. Yet I think they'll give "+4", I guess they think life is endless, they think they'll have an opportunity to see another genius. Thank you very much for such a great pleasure!
Y: Look, this is a unique situation indeed: the athlete executes challenging jumps with such cold-bloodedness, such calmness. And the main thing, he feels the music so well.
T: the music.
Y: every movement...
T: with every cell of his body he feels the music. He feels this music with every cell of his body.
Y: No doubt, Yuzuru Hanyu is a hard worker and a perfectionist, yet I guess one needs to be born with such a talent to skate like this.
T: Sure.
G: People are crying. People on the stands are crying.
T: Yes, people are crying. I talked to Orser yesterday, he said this year Hanyu had become a changed man: open-hearted, merry. Last year he was really concentrated on winning the Olympics. Likely it took two Olympic victories...
Y: to make him ease up.
T: to make him be himself. He says Hanyu works with pleasure, tries all new things he can try, learns many new things.
G: A new world record by Yuzuru Hanyu: 110.53...
T: Hooray!! Hooray. A new world record. This is happiness.
Y: Yes, something incredible took place here on Hodynskoye Pole, such a an ingenious skate became the final of men's short program. Tatiana Anatolievna and I rose in applause, because it was impossible to keep sitting on chairs after the performance we had seen.
T: We had already risen when he was doing the step sequence! It is impossible to keep sitting.
Y: Tatiana Anatolievna, do you know what sets a genius skater apart from very good ones? When we watch a good skater we can find time for something else, but when a genius skates, it is impossible to take your eyes off him.
T: to take your eyes off him, and it is impossible to breath. Impossible to breath! Thank you very much!

Thanks for the translation! His comments - even apart from those on Yuzu, where of course I'm biased - are very interesting, generous to the skater without compromising on the facts.

some comments by Tarasova, Yagudin and Grishin

about Artur Dmitriev
T: They should see the video review of his 3,5 now, because anyone can throw his body into it, but he hasn't fully rotated it. It was not just underrotated, it was by far underrotated. He lacked not a full rotation, but more than a half. We'll see now. Anyway he did well: he has tried to do what he promised to try. Yet I feel pity for his program, because it was done at the expense of the program, the second half of it was absolutely not performed.
G: Nevertheless he is an innovator, he moves onward. Nobody did it before. He didn't succeed, I'm sorry to say.
T: He couldn't succeed! It couldn't be done a priori. Maybe it is a wise PR stunt: look, we do it. "We do it", but one can't say "we do" about this. I think we can say: "we have tried".
G: Actually, that's true.
T: We have tried.
Y: Yes, he had a shot at jumping 4A on forward running... I feel pity, because in the warming up he jumped a perfectly clean 4T before us, with landing on one foot. I don't get what's going on: why does the athlete put his second foot on the ice? There were a few jumps in his program which were fully rotated, but he landed on two feet. It's very odd.
/.../
Y: Maybe Artur Dmitriev understands, that there’s no alternative for him but trying?
T: but trying, but announcing such curious things: Lz with landing on another foot and flip. He is the first one who jumps this combination. I congratulate them on that.
Y: As commentators and viewers, we are happy to see such attempts, of course, because we see absolutely new elements. But Artur should think about himself more than about us, should think about the place which he will take. So of course, it would be better for him, if he just skated clean. Now he gets 122 points for his FS. It is only the forth place. His total score is nearly 190 points. That's what an attempt at jumping 4A can give.

about Kolyada
T: Well, he has managed to perform the first part of the program, it is even possible to say he has managed to perform the program, but the second part was filled with failures. Actually, Russian Nationals are going to be very interesting, because Kovtun skates to the same music, there will be interesting programs, the competition is going to be interesting. I think everyone will work, because noone would like to give medals to others.
Y: Tatiana Anatolievna, what a pity! He jumps 2 quads, but...
T: It is even laughable! I didn't have to think about such a situation, when my athletes skated. If you had jumped 2 quads, you strung all other elements like pieces of shashlik are strung on a skewer.
Y: No. Maybe I had failures from time to time...
T: No, there were no failures.
Y: I had , I had.
T: No. You could have a wrong angle on a lutz, you could jump a salchow on last breath, but you couldn't do one rotation instead of 3 rotations!
(The Russian word for one rotation is "a butterfly". It sounds so funny, when Tarasova says in a soft voice: "But not butterflies!")
T: Yet anyway he is good - comparing to his yesterday skate, comparing to the warming up - you've seen this warming up...
G: Actually, he is the best in this warming up.
T: He was taken to pieces: his arms were here, his legs were there... Now he has composed himself - I don't know what he did for that, how he managed to do it. You know, we can say: "Remember it - and do it always like this."
G: You mean three jumps in the beginning of the program.
T: Yes, yes!
Y: We know Mikhail Kolyada. When I hear "Mikhail Kolyada", I see 3Lz, 4Lz. 3Lz is likely his favourite jump. And when he does a double jump on his favoirite jump... it is not a tragedy, but a scandal.
G: Nevertheless he has learned 4S, we practically didn't see it last season. It was inconsistent.
T: Well, salchow! It is two years, that he has salchow, but he jumps it in a competition for the first time. I congratulate him on that. Yet after that... Michel, your 4Lz can be photographed for a book! How can you melt down like this?
Y: Yes, we see 3A now. Well, OK, he bowed forward a bit after 3A, but why did he have 1 rotation on the toeloop?? Why?? One should train to jump 2T without having speed.
T: Skaters do that on trainings.
Y: Misha loses points over little things, over little things! It's a pity.
T: One should add double jump to any element he does. A double jump or a triple - doing as much as one can do. Always! Even in those places where it isn't planned. You never know where you'll need it. You should do it always! On trainings. That's what lets you do it automatically and be confident. Yet anyway we love him, his skating is beautiful, he has coped with himself to some degree. That is not enough! Yet that is good.
Y: Of course, he is the leader for the moment. Yet we really would like to have it cleaned finally! You do challenging elements which you have in the beginning of the program. What do you lack? I don't know. Is it stamina? Is it because of emotions? It seems you should crack all the elements easily - like sunflower seeds are cracked!

about Hanyu
Y: You know, his skate reminds us once again, that all of us are human beings and, of course, we get tired sometimes. I think we should see such skates at-times, because nothing is perfect in this life, and anyway even geniuses happen to have a day when something doesn't work out. Yet actually, what does it mean: "doesn't work out"? He had a good 4S in the beginning, he had 4T, only the final wasn't really good. But Yuzuru Hanyu is "well ahead of all the planet" - that is enough to win. As for Alexander Majorov who takes the ice, I don't envy him (laughs), because it is really hard to get around every toy we see on the arena now.
T: You know, I even forgot, that I should comment. It is because even this time I really enjoyed seeing how he fought. Of course, after his injury he was not himself to some degree, but he did fight. He had decent landings - even if his position before the exit wasn't really good. He added some elements, he fought, he didn't give up. He decided to skate despite the injury. I always say, that a talented person opens a new prospect for us. Thanks to him we see what is hidden behind the horizon, because we see our future. I'm really grateful for that.
Y: Tatiana Anatolievna, we note oftentimes, that one should think when he skates. He did a jump before our eyes - unfortunately, the landing wasn't really good - he had planned to jump the combination with 3T there, but he guessed he could do euler and 3S instead. It means he controls the situation, his head keeps working - at every moment.
T: This is the main thing for a single skater: his head should work, because a head sends an impulse to legs when it is necessary. Skating with no head is impossible. I'll go to see him now and to thank him - for the pleasure I had, for the lesson I had. I'll hand him a gift from figure skating lovers - an awesome picture which they had drawed and gave to me, so that I could hand it over to him. I'll give him the music which I picked for him. I love this man who unveils future for us.
Y: You know, after lots and lots of competitions Yuzuru Hanyu has won, after two Olympic gold medals, the guy is still energetic and - the main thing - he has the desire to continue skating.
T: Sure.
Y: Actually, we could say goodbye to him, he could stop competing, because he is truly the king of ice, he has a lot of commercial proposals, a lot of shows in which he skates, but he still chooses competing.
T: He chooses the biggest challenge, because he can't live without it.

about Morisi Kvitelashvili
Y: I know Morisi personally, he is a very kind man. I really wish him to harness his willpower now and to have a great skate - as professionally done as his SP was.

According to this
http://www.xl.sk/en/koncerty/fire-on-ice

Alexei and some others from Averbukh's team should skate in Josef Sabovcik's farewell show - Ostrava (Czech Republic) 6 Nov 2019, Bratislava (Slovakia) 7 Nov 2019
However, it's in such a long time, let's hope and pray that everyone (both the skaters and their fans) will stay healthy and nothing will be cancelled!
