Has anyone else noticed that Alexei seems to be jumping doubles lately or just not jumping at all?? :(

I don't know. Some years ago it happened, that he had to skate almost without jumps indeed - later he started to jump again.

Not long ago he was asked what question he would ask, if he interviewed himself. He said something like:
"When will you stop skating? People are tired of you. The answer is: soon."
Maybe he mentioned again his age and his problem with a knee. As for his knee... it seems this problem is old, but he still doesn't do anything about it.

it just seems such a shame to see him jumping doubles now when we think what he used to be capable of :( obviously he hasn’t been able to jump much apart from triple toe loop for several years due to his hip but a while back he did the odd double axel and even triple flip which was fantastic to see, I hope if it’s an injury that it gets better soon and we see him jumping triples again.

Admittedly a bit heartbroken that he won't be at Podolsk on March 23rd but I'm sure it'll be a great show regardless. :sad4:

(about the Belorusian figure skating)

Y: I always say jokingly, that I live between two capitals. It is absolute true. I live by the Minskoye highway, so if I turn to the right - I'll find the way to Moscow, if I turn to the left - I'll come to Minsk. We shot the "Beauty Gallery" TV project which will be aired on the Belarusian TV from the end of March or from the beginning of April. I was at a business lunch on Thursday, we agreed on further work, on creating other TV projects. So I'm going to come to Minsk several times a month. I'm happy about that.
If we speak about figure skating (including the Belorusian skating), I'd like to mention your header of the Skating Federation Yulia Komleva who is very ambitious. I know she did much to make this fest in Minsk come true (the European Championship). I know her goals in regards to developing of figure skating in the country. Since I'm going to come often to Minsk, we'll try to open a figure skating school here. Yet we should remember, that it is relatively lengthy process. /.../
The country needs coaches, and of course, there should be conditions for those professionals, so that they could live and work here. My first coach is a vivid example. One day he said to me: "Alexei, I need to feed my family - so I go to work in Sweden". I vote with both hands for that: first of all, people should think about themselves and about their families. So the country needs to provide conditions for coaches, so that living and working here would be interesting and comfortable for them. There are rinks in Minsk, I know one more modest-sized ice arena is being built. The first step is done. The interest to figure skating will be nourished thanks to the European Championship 2019. Next the country needs coaches.
Q: Are you ready to help to find those?
Y: Yes. Yet I'm only a small part, it depends not only on me. Always a team should work.

(during the European Championship)

Y: It is the third day of the competition, everything is awesome. /.../ This 15000 arena - Minsk arena - is filled almost 99.99 per cent in evenings. It shows, that there is an interest to the European Championship here. I repeat again and again, that it's impossible to kill love for the ice hockey in Belarus. Now thanks to this love for the ice hockey Minsk has this arena which finds room for 15000 viewers... /.../
Q: How high is the level of figure skating in Belarus?
Y: Hmm... now it has no level. Yet we remember Alexander Kazakov - a single skater. We remember Sergei Davydov who was in one step to the podium of the European competition - he was the fourth. It is not easy to raise figure skating almost from ground zero, yet Belarus has skaters almost in all the disciplines, but that is not enough. We are Russians, you are Belarusians - actually, we are similar: our temperament, our set of mind. So you need only to enforce a bit, to be not cruel, but tough, to develop a pattern - and you'll have it. I'm sure Belarus has talented kids. We talked today... as far as I remember there are 32 or 34 ice arenas in your country - so you already have a foundation...

Wow! :clapper: He is on fire here!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtoF-NcGBkM
(it seems I haven't seen it on youtube before, I've added it to the list on the first page)

I think you could see this performance before - it's only by another TV:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYdYxLKbhCQ

Yes, he was on fire, despite the terrible pain he was in (as you can see during and at the end).

As for other videos, this channel also has "The Man in The Iron Mask"
(the European Championship, as far as I understand)

WOW! Finally this Euro with the British Eurosport commentary!!! Thank you, Ša Lov, a lot!!!!:hap10:

Has anyone else noticed that Alexei seems to be jumping doubles lately or just not jumping at all?? :(

Unfortunately, I've also noticed it - last spring he still used to have min. 2 jumps in his solo numbers, e.g. in R&J, but then, in some videos from last August, it was only one jump... Sadly, the knee seems to be bothering him more than his hip :sad21: However, I definitely don't want him to stop skating :luv17: Hope someone posts videos from the new show and we'll see whether his knee is getting better or not... Wish him all the best!!!

It's oka Rina. My very first ice show being an Averbukh production is pretty great. While I'll likely never see Yagudin or Kulik skate live, I've lived this long without seeing them. :)

Tanya's post for the Saint Valentine's Day is even funnier than Lyosha's posts. Her text to the photo says something like this: "Many want to have beautiful love, but not everyone manages to get through everyday-monotonous-love testing! Happy Saint Valentine's Day!"
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt3RDejl6JX/

As for Lyosha, it is funny, that he makes any posts - and it is funny he keeps insisting Saint Valentine's Day isn't important:
"Who cares what Day it is? Just do love.... always...."

He is extremely stubborn.

They are extremely funny and beautiful. :luv17:

Lyosha as a woman (who would like to see?) :coffee:

Well, he could be better, but he is not bad! I think he gets better.
I hope the link works for you:

Though he hurries indeed. And... it seems this woman should love herself. When he hurries, he forgets to love herself. Or maybe she could be less healthy, more hateful - but she shouldn't just hurry.
It also would be better, if his speech was clearer. (when he is a host, his speech can be wonderful now - even though his normal voice was a whisper - yet in this case he needs versatility: it should be not just clear) It's great he tries.
It seems the next episode will be the last for Yagudin. It's a pity. Yet it is good, that he decided to participate. It seems it was useful for him.

(in the profile they say, that when the original movie was being made, the director didn't dare to ask a woman to play such a role - that's why he invited Tabakov)

Lyosha also has a new role in theatre

According to this article, the World Champion among juniors Tomoki Hiwatashi says he is inspired by Yagudin: "I like many figure skaters, but I'd say Alexei Yagudin is my favourite. His skating was awesome, his quads were brilliant, and I remember his Olympic programs by heart. This is my main source of inspiration in the figure skating."

Hey Rina.... quick question... the play Alexei is doing? You wouldn't happen to know where and for how long it is going on? I'll be in Russia next weekend and if it's still happening... would LOVE to see if I can get tickets.

The answer is not as simple as the question. :)

As far as I see, he had one play in Vyborgsky cultural centre in St.Petersburg. It seems they performed on March 11 - and no more performances are expected (in the nearest future). It seems this play was going to be called "The Waiting List", but it was called "Follow Your Heart".

Another play is "The Surprise For Her Beloved Man". (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt6AZlkgCM7/) As far as I understand, it should take place in Moscow ("the Avalon theater agency"? but... I couldn't find the address nor the dates in the internet). I also read they were going to visit other cities, but... no more info. Maybe Yagudin knows the answers. :palmf: :)

GAH! We will be there March 21-28th (with the 23/24 in Moscow to see the Averbukh show in Podolsk). I know he won't be in Podolsk and assumed it was because he'd be at World's with TAT commentating but perhaps he'll be on stage instead.....
