Alina Zagitova

Yes, she was. She was invited to the 'Direct Line with the President' in one of the TV studios. From Alina's insta:
Today I took part in the live broadcast with the Russian President Vladimir V. Putin. Over 4 hours of questions and answers

And it seems I was right when I wrote this:

Alina got too many hateful messages on her page (hate aimed at Putin and transferred on to her) that she deleted the photo (good that teamzagitova saved it in time)
Yeah you were right and i said same thing and was blocked by TeamZ. Well currently Alina is pretty famous and likable by many people so ofc she is gonna be dragged everywhere

We all live in different countries (maybe a bunch of us even live in the same one), under different political leaders that we can like or intensely dislike but that doesn't mean we can't be patriotic and feel pride in our nationalities.

Alina is a champion of Russia, their best female figure skater in history, no one has her titles and achievements. She loves her country deeply and that is plain to see, I admire her for it. Countries are not their politicians, if they were a lot of people would have trouble justifying loving their own.

She was invited to an event attended by no other peer athletes, at least in her field, quite possibly this was for her a true honor. I looked around that room when the camera panned around and could only see people that were much older. It was for her an honor and she should never have been shamed for feeling proud of being there. Too bad I missed the chance to read the comments in her post, if any were attacking or shaming her personally it would have been my pleasure to report them all as "bullying" to instagram.

I know she is not picking her starts but it's Eteri together with RusFed. But to be honest, even if you didn't count Rus ladies, SA has for me stronger field - Kaori, Lilbet, and maybe even Ensuoo compared to Rika, Ensuoo in Japan. Those are girls who can beat her when they will be cleen and Alina not. (Hopefully she will, but theoretically) Also she struggled in Canada with time changes and US is similar. So I think it's not that bad. Skating before home crowd is also add pressure to win. I also think 3rd Russian lady being Maria and Sofia is also not bad. To me it seems like Rusfed pick go with both Sasha and Alina the most. And placing Sasha into Moscow when she is in Evgenia is not weird, combined it seems more atractive than Alina and Alena. And once again, Alina loves Japan. It calms her there. On the other hand Rika will be there under enorm pressure - home crowd + she lost on home ice to her in their last enounter there. So let's be possitive and trust her. :)

Also Idk if you knows it but Evgenia has bigger chest and bottom area (as you call it :D) than Alina and attept 4S at Japan and land on both feet. Her body is fine and her legs are strong enough. She has good shot to do it.
I agree on a lot that you’ve said, rusfed thought stuff through on maximizing wins but Alina and Alena could’ve got both ruscup and france if rusfed really cared about Alina in GPF, But as I suspected before Sasha is their best bet for the season, only favor Alina got out of winning Worlds - not being put with a quad girl,
Tho you are right, rusfed are favoriting Sasha and Alina (for now) out of all.

Speaking of quads, i saw news about 4s, but EM is more slim and “less womanly” (idk how else to put it ) than Alina, and it was always like that, how can you not see that especially last videos and pics, tho they both are very pretty and have it all.
it’s a bad talk i guess, so I’m stopping here, but i ll probably get banned anyway. we’ll see, I believe in Alina, but she has a lot of things to fight still and its not skaters with quads or 3A.

People (and I use the word loosely) like this disgust me beyond belief.
I think they actually need a good dose of something a little stronger than being reported to instagram.

What a shame she had to take down that picture because of some internet bullies (aka cowards).

Before we go running to the fainting couch....

Here's an important reminder.
Alina Zagitova skated in a World Championship in which one skater landed a 4S, and another skater landed a 3A.
Alina Zagitova won that World Championship.

There were a famous socker player and some other athlete they interviewed, some more famous people. It was political propaganda and I’m glad people my generation weren’t buying it.
I was going to reply to one of those comments but post got deleted, from what i read, people weren’t mean to Alina personally to the point of reporting them, don’t worry. Imo Alina should ve just turned off comments on that post (or any controversial post), idk why she deleted it, probably got overwhelmed and very upset :/ she didn’t say anything pro P.ut.in so people were a bit off imo.

Still, she is gonna be able to vote soon, she should know what’s really going on in our country outside of Moscow, especially having this influence on younger people.

Alina looked so different.....then I realized that it's only a B&W version of a picture of her Carmen.

Looks super cool.

I was expecting Diana to take some black and white photos of Alina but she left to US. Maybe at GPF then

Idk if it's right to discuss it :D , but for me they are both slim the same, both wery skinny (and very beautiful), but they are different body types. They matured, but it's not a problem, Liza has her 3A again and is grown woman too, not fragille little girl. With time, older skaters will able to do it too, only now it seems like it's junior little girls thing, but it's because they tried it first. Evgenia has to me more women top part of the body than Alina (as you call it chest part), but Alina has stronger legs, so optically "less skinny" but for me it's definitelly favor for jumps than disadvantage. Look at gymnasts, powerfull one, who are good in vault or floor always have much stronger legs too. I really don't think it's a problem, her body and strange is good enough. I don't doubt it at all. Other girls will mature too. More muscles only can help her to not get injured by jumping it. Maybe she will not be able to do it, but it depends on much more things. She is able to jump huge triples from insane entries, so with easier one it's possible. But I guess we will see.

I am a little bit late, but I gotta say I am very pleased seeing Alina's GP assignments. The impression after Worlds is still strong on me, and Alina's incredible performance in Japan proved just how confident this country makes her feel, how even she had confessed before.

There is no easy assignments, the competitions are packed, and you will need to perform the best, and beat the best skaters, to earn your spot in the final. Alyona is a tough competitor, Kaori is too, what more can be said about Rika. But if Alina will perform her best, I am confident that the outcome will be in her favour.

Don't get banned, my friend. Alina needs all of her GS fans in her fan-fest. Well, Alina may not, but I certainly enjoy having them around. :ghug:

Let's be positive. The only thing we know for sure is that Alina will work as hard as humanly possible to skate her absolute best at every competition. It may be enough and it may not, but some things are out of her control and ours.

Let's enjoy this season together as Alina fans as much as we can. I know there will be ups and downs. Last season was nerve-wracking, but it all turned out AMAZING in the end. :luv17:

Short clip from an interview to 1TV channel:
Alina's impressions after the 'Direct Line with Putin'

The problems of the huge country turned out to be real revelation for a guest of the Direct Line (with Vladimir Putin), Alina Zagitova. "I realized that it's very important to listen to the people. Not everyone lives so good as some people and...it's necessary to help them."

____________
There were a famous soccer player and some other athlete they interviewed, some more famous people.

Well, at least she had someone closer to her age she knows personally there - one of Averin twin sisters (think it was Dina, still can't always tell them apart :)), the rhythmic gymnastics stars.

My reaction: oh no yuck why did she get Internationaux de France. The worst GP [emoji23] but I’m sure she’ll kick its ass

Pretty sure since Alina got first pick she likely chose NHK, followed by IdF because of the dates.

Most skaters won't do back to back events and that pretty much ruled out Rostelecom with NHK. And when it comes down to it I think she'd pick NHK over Rostelecom; she's better adjusted when competing in Japan, looking at all the events that she's done there. And she hasn't really had as great luck in Russia – Russian championships last year, and also recalling the Russian test skates last season. Also to note, the Russian audience seem to really enjoy clapping while skaters skate, something Alina herself really finds it difficult (she spoke about this before). For her at least, I think NHK was chosen with these factors in mind.

In any case its not only the skater who wants to pick, the individual competitions must also want them there to send them an invitation I believe. NHK is more than happy to have her there – she (and Yuzuru) arguably make up their strongest marketing draw they could possibly have. They're both headliners for the event arguably, and both will sell tickets, and Rika is great but she really only started building her popularity pretty recently and is not as big of a ticket seller as Alina.

Idf is a great pick, not just because of the (perceivably less) competition, but more so for the location. It's not as far as say, Canada and America, and less of a time difference. She's not been to America, but Canada she was there for GPF last year and jet lag was a huge issue – I remember her showing up to SP and then in the interview later she said she almost missed the competition altogether from oversleeping. CoC would also have been great and probably would have been her alternative choice, I would think. Also, GPF is going to be in Turin (Italy) this year which lies in the same time zone as grenoble (itself isn't a huge distance away I believe) and would be a good chance to acclimatise and see what works better for her body ahead of time.

I think Alina has overall good memories from her competition in Grenoble in 2017. She had a bad SP and Eteri was super mad but Alina overcame herself and did a perfect Don Quixote in the Free so she won deservedly there. Her joy at the medal ceremony was undeniable - and the fact that she keeps this precious huge star in the middle of her shelf at home. She is proud of this achievement and I hope she has even bigger success this time in France.

My friend and I are planning on going to IdF and the GPF in Torino this year to support Alina. It will be a bit tough with the time schedule but I want to make it, I want to be there and cheer for her. We also have the Russian flag and I will be screaming like crazy :D Hopefully we will get somehow near the skaters (yep, I am greedy) but I doubt it - especially at the Final where it will be just a mad idea to even try to come close.

I am planning on going to IdF as well! Not so sure about Torino - I a, not planning on making any arrangements so not to jinx Alina's getting into GPF. :)
