Alina Zagitova

it is sad that even local(Tatartstan) media prefer to write about Zhenya than Alina. Alina deserves more than that(being a background). They sholuld focus on Alina and how agreat skater she is. but of course media prefer drama:( i guess last line is the most important:

Медведева была лидером группы Тутберидзе. Справится ли с этой ролью Загитова?

— Ей там и справляться не с чем. Там лидер один — это Тутберидзе.

after Zhenya Eteri wont let anyone be a leader

How do you know that? In the interview there is not something similar to that.
- Until May 7 there was an implicit prohibition to call Zagitov an Olympic champion in the media. How did she survive it?

-The first time I've heard from you about this ban." Even there, at the Olympics, we celebrated her victory the next day and everyone, including the presenter, called her an Olympic champion. And we had many events after that, where all the speakers called Alina a champion.

For me the so-called prohibition is a non-sense, an invention to fuel the drama...

I have to admit that I have a certain discomfort regarding on what Alina is doing on Instagram.
You would say that she's a teen and it's normal, but more than that she is a public figure and should act as a role-model for other teens.

Discomfort for what, exactly? :scratch2:

Renat Laishev ( Sambo 70 boss) new interview , about Alina , Eteri , Zhenja ..
too big for translation to me ( but I will try to translate some part .

Sambo 70 - 24 sports disciplines, 16 000 students

Thank you Ed. It switched to english right away for me.

Alina is almost 16 sholdnt she be in thev10th grade? The article said the 9th.

I dont get the whole dont call Alunka olympic champion. Werebtey trying to appease Zhenya? Confusing. Alina fans were annoyed by this.

And he says Medvedeva wilk stay affiliated with Sambo 70 shen she is in Moscow. Thats how undrrstand it anyway.

For example, she liked a video from Women.public that I don't find exactly flattering or age appropriate.

I think its none of our business, yeah shes a public figure but she's no saint, shes a teenager she can do whatever she wants, she doesnt need to please everyone.

I totally agree... but as long the information is public - and it is- it's also my right not to like or not to agree with it and to express my opinions :).
Anyway, for me it's not much of a surprise, mentally i gave up to Alina a long time ago, so my expectactions are really low :) and it's for the best.

This.
And rather than lowering expectations, I think it would be better to have realistic expectations. I don't (and can't) expect her to walk on eggshells everytime she's on social media. There are boundaries of course but as long as she's not crossing those, she'll be fine. And we know that she's a good girl.
God knows what posts I liked on social media when I was 16.

I dont have the same discomfort and Alina is my favorite too. Maybe because youre the same sex as Alina you feel this way.

I find her very mellow and polite and easy to get along with. Alina is as likable as they come. She has every right to be p*ssed off at how shes been treated since the olympics. But I never get a bad vibe from her and I am very vibe concious.

Maybe because we are all different and we expect different things from people, including athletes we follow. Nothing wrong in that.
And as none of us (i guess) knows her personally I find it difficult to say that "we know that she's a good girl' ... Instagram is a presentation card for me... and it's a common practice even for big HR or political marketing firms to follow the activity of persons on social media in order to know them better, to learn their preferences, their aims, their flaws and so on.

As for the media being banned to call her Olympic champion, I think that it's just an invention. Even the president of Sambo 70 said clearly that this is not true. Other mistreatment... I don't know at what you are referring.

It's funny how people's perceptions are different.

From my view, she's a fifteen year old who has exhibited great restraint and maturity on social media. Only five additional posts since December! I know adults who post practically every day.

Her posts are tasteful and respectful. Now, I will admit that I don't pay attention to what she likes on Instagram, but don't judge her too harshly. I was her age not too long ago and similarly quiet where many friends were outgoing. Nonetheless, I could still find humor in something crass they said, did, or showed me. It doesn't take away from her general goodness that she has demonstrated for years.

Considering a 16 year old's instagram activity as a resume is a new concept for me. I might as well put fake credentials and make marketing firms believe me--yes, that's how reliable instagram is :agree2:
People nowadays put so much substance on what they see on social media, when it feeds off superficiality.
For one, she's not applying for a job in your company; she's a figure skater and that's her focus. She's judged primarily according to what she does on the ice, then how she conducts her self among her peers and the rest follows...professionally speaking, I don't think the posts she likes on instagram falls in this category. She is not a beacon of virtue 24/7 and that is not why people know her. When I say she's a good girl I meant I don't see her crossing such boundaries. The girl can't even use her ig without someone making a mountain out of a molehill.
If only people could just get rid of the perfect image they have of the people they follow, they would realize that those people are also--surprise--people. :eeking:

Don't think anything she does on Instagram, specially if it is liking activity and not actual things on her timeline (which as been noted here by others, is pretty sweet, tame, and she posts very sparsely) will hurt her endorsement prospects or even professional prospects in sports, other famous people with many endorsements even follow let's say "controversial" instagram accounts that post things with crass humor and it never hurt their publicity contracts.

Couldn't say better than that :agree:
