Alina Zagitova

Olympics channel's interview with Alina, a few quotes below and full link at the bottom of the post:

"I don’t want to look for any excuses for my mistakes, I try not to get distracted by any circumstances. I think if you’re an experienced skater, you need to learn how to get used to anything that could happen."

"Honestly it’s not so important for me. My score, my first place, doesn’t really matter when I don’t skate clean. I always want to do my job on the ice as best as I can. I wasn’t able to do that today, so I’m not pleased with myself."

Alina is our own little Buddha, wise and very focused. I wish I had half, even 1/8, of her determination and focus when I was her age.

I wish that tomorrow she can truly leave the ice happy. Go and be amazing like you are Alina!!

Alina seems very composed and realistic in every interview that I've read. I feel like she grew a lot, mentally speaking, she's speaking up for herself, presents objective opinions about her performances and she does not seem to let a mistake to affect her. Yes, at that moment she was sad, but afterwards she's taking it as a learning experience and looking very positive towards her future.

I am becoming emotional, seeing her continuous development. :luv17:

Complete video of Alina's run-through:

She went all clean, with an exception: she tried a 3Lz+3T+3Lo :eeking: combo and had problems at the last jumping pass; but we'll see this combo just for training purposes, so it's all fine. In the second half she performed a perfect 3Lz+3Lo

Looking forward to today's competition, I must kill some time shopping and watching gymnastics in order for the time to pass faster and the FS to start. :yahoo::yahoo:

Yesterday I was writting my homework and watching gymnastics just like background and watching sometime .. I was like ok I will watch gymnastics and then swich to Finlandia trophy ..and than .. suddenly  .. I realize that Finland is in different time zone then Prague  Which is quite funny, because I check it in the morning just to be sure it's the same time zone and I was probably that off that I realize that it is  and I realize that I made i mistake right before Alina's skate :palmf: I saw only Leona's K&C

Still good to go in the US, I really wish these algorithms would leave well enough alone.

I will. But I might have other condition. I may kiss the bride(s)[/QUOTE

After Alina wins her second Olympic Gold medal in 2022 this entire fan fest will fly to Prague and kiss you! The line starts behind me. :luv17:

We will all stay at paji's house. :ghug:

EdRoz, you are not exempt from this. :cool14:

Here's to Gold number 2 in 2022! :yahoo:

is live updates allowed???

I think not, it’s been posted that specifics are allowed to be discussed only after the competition is over (but you can do before the Gala).

It’s super hard not to come here and post a bit about it, we are all super excited for this and huge fans of Alina.

21. Competition Threads and Season Passes (Updated 10/1/18)
For many years, the GS Forum has been providing services free of charge. The traffic has inevitably grown and the servers are upgraded as needed. Moving forward, a small fee will be charged to access the Competition Forums in order to help offset the cost of maintaining the forums. Please do not use other threads for competition chat (to undercut or bypass the fee) until after the entire event is over. Competition chat includes, but is not limited to:

entry lists
play-by-plays
practice reports
comparison of skaters in the same event
scores, GOEs, elements, values, etc.

Note: Performances can be discussed in the respective Fan Fest forums during an event as long as no other skaters are mentioned/compared or posting general event info
.

I bolded the significant part. You can discuss Alina's performance before the end of the competition. Just not any other skater. Comparisons need to wait till after the competiton. :agree:

Thank you for the rules post and for pointing out the updated bit.
