I am not sure, but she might be told off for touching the camera (if in any case she touched the lens I'm sure the cameraman had a heart attack).
But I am not a specialist and there may well be other reasons, as in it may actually look better on camera ;)

As a thanks to you for this great year on GS with you, I had an idea and asked my friend (the newly hatched figure skating fan) to do something for GS and he agreed and actually got so much inspiration. Consider it as a surprise from us, I am sure you will like it because he has been working hard 3 days already and I can't wait to show it to you! I don't know when exactly, maybe you'll have to be patient for a few days. :dance2:

I think it’s more a question of logistics. The original intention was probably the camera punch, she did it like that at Nebelhorn, but the intention they had was for the camera to show the punch from its point of view during the broadcast.

Since the Nebelhorn camera didn’t show it they probably realized that, with so many cameras around during a live broadcast, it would be hard to guess the correct camera to punch at (meaning a camera the broadcast can rapidly cut to on the switch board to show the punch).

With the punch out off the table due to hit and miss broadcast effect they opted to go with the current ending pose.

Awwww I’m glad I gave you Christmas and Home Alone vibes, my favorite time of the year and I love these movies.

I’m so happy you got your Alina hug, that is truly special and we felt hugged along with you, you generously shared your whole experience with us. Maybe one day I’ll get my live hug too, thank you for your wishes for that.

Will it be too much to hope they film the performances and then place them online? Probably, can’t imagine any of the 150 hand selected people sneaking camera phone footage.

Oh well...

Maybe Sambo 70 will upload something later, there was a ceremony there with Alina and Zhenya that they allowed to be filmed I believe (not a gala but an event).

I think a hug for Alina would be something amazing for everyone here, and I really hope each one of us we'll be able to meet Alina in person, but at least I am happy because one of us did it already, and it was such a great experience for you. :pray:

I love Christmas time, decorating my Christmas tree, eating cookies and giving presents - that is heaven for me. And on the same time will also take place the Russian Nationals, now that's a great treat for all of us :pray: I am so excited now to see what you and your friend prepared for us, thanks for thinking about us and I am very impressed by his commitment during these first days as a FS fan :pray:

I really hope for a video with Alina's performance...:pray: I can compare this with another situation...when someone makes a photo with me but does not want to show it to me. Now that's annoying, but not seeing Alina's program, I think it's 1000 times more annoying :biggrin:

That picture is so lovely, Alina with pink cheeks after a long practice, feeling loved and being truly happy.

I’m sure Eteri senior (Eteri’s mom) would be so proud of her SP at Rostelecom and so happy to see it dedicated to her.

By the way, a few months ago we voted for Alina for sportswoman of the year in another contest, what happened there, does anyone know?
