Alina Zagitova

Makes more sense now. :thank:
But then it was probably sold after the family moved away, no?

:laugh2:
Whatever TAT & Co. are saying about Eteri girls and longevity, it isn't working on Russian parents.

LOL no sane parent would give a bleeping hoot if their kid *only* managed to win everything as a teenager. In fact most parents would consider that far more preferable than their kid toiling into their 20s without going to college/advancing with their lives/careers for the sake of a non-lucrative and short-term sporting career where you will always need to be competing with younger, more physically capable skaters. Skating commentators can talk all they want about longevity, but the difference between a “short” and “long” skating career is 4-6 years. If the difference is getting out at 18 or getting out at 24, give me 18 and an undisrupted education any day. As far as I’m concerned, the ones who manage to win it all early and move on with the next 60-80 years of their lives are the smartest of all.

I don't know why people could not mention other skaters in this (or any other) fan thread, as long as it is respectful towards both of them and the fans. There is a difference between this above and this...

Feel free to decide what you think belongs here and what doesn't.

Even the fanfest exists in reality and everything is related to everything else, as someone called Lenin have said, btw

Alina and Masaru are great advertisers. I hope they make a lot of money.

If what EdRoz said about Alina making Khrustalni crazily popular was also true, Sambo-70 should also be paying Alina for bringing in business. No longer must Eteri take in poor girls from far off cities who place 25th at regional competitions. Now, jumping triples is requisite to joining the group, and the bar only goes up from there.

We cannot bring up Masaru in here. Only Alina. Lol! ;)

Hoping Alina does not have jet lag going to Vancouver and skating a couple days later for real.

The only time I ever saw a skater training was Sarah Hughes at The Ice House back in 2001. And she had a lot of company on the ice with her.

Yeah that's only possible in Hollywood magic, in reality skaters train with a bunch of other skaters around on the same ice rink. Maybe it helps with concentration (tuning things out) and fast reflexes.

Still we have scenes like this one where Alina got spooked by Yuna Shiraiwa coming at her like a sweet "James Bond in a cantina bat out of hell", I've made the gif myself because Alina's spook was just so sweet. This was after her SP run through and during Yuna's.

Wohooo  Really waited for this photo :luv17: I am sorry that I am not so active during the last days, I am travelling this week so I'm having limited internet access, but I know I will crazily look for proper internet connection/staying up at nights trying to be able to watch Alina live. I am so excited for this competition, she looks so relaxed and confident, I just know she will be amazing and I just can't imagine myself missing to watch this competition.:eeking::biggrin:

I feel relived now, knowing that all the paperwork was sorted out and she's on her way to Vancouver. Alina had an amazing season so far, both her programs are perfect (my boyfriend is just mesmerized how perfectly in sync with music everything is), and she is clearly the best skater going into this competition.

Whatever the outcome, I know Alina will just be stronger and stronger, going towards that "secret dream" that she's having and that I know she will make it true, that's how ambitious and dedicated she is. The simple fact that she started the post-olympic season, and the new olympic cycle in the "pole-position", as the top contender, speaks a lot about her dreams and aspirations. Whatever "some people" want, she is here to stay, and to be amazing in everything she does. :luv17:

There will be a new TV program about Alina in Japan

Edited to add some more info:

- Alina says in Japanese on the first video "Before and After Special" so this is the name of the show
- Will be broadcast by one of the TBS stations on Dec 11th
- I assume it will be about the two Olympic Champions competing in the same season and the same events (hence the Hanyu video) plus more stuff on Alina
