Alina Zagitova

Thank you for the wonderful description!! 30sec of smiling great looking Alina are my idea of a well spent 30sec.

Caballe found the little video snipped and we could all see how she looked great, beautiful as always and very relaxed.

Yes! It wasn't a dream! Hahaha, I was beginning to think, did that actually happen?

She looks happy and relaxed. I hope she can recharge over the next week or so in the comfort of her loving family's company. :)

Someone please explain to me her gala program. Why does she have to pause for so long to tie her hair and take off her jacket

You kiddin? It's mesmerizing, she look really wonderful with flowing hairs, it has relly nice effect. But with loose hair it's not so comfortable and maybe not even so safe to jump. And It's so good for galla, it's playfull, it's not boring .. very good gala program, one of my most favorite from all skaters. :)

Guys, it's maybe there but I could not find it, I have bad internet connection :/ how it is with ECH and WCH? Who is nominate? Has Alina spot for both? I found just sth in Russian and It was messed up by translator. I just know there was sth abou Alina, Stanislava, Sofia, Liza and Zhenya. :D Can anyone inform me pretty please? :)

Alina, Stanislava and Sofia for Euros. Alina, Stanislava and Liza for Worlds (at least yet).

i read that while Alina's GALA Daniil said something about a burn on Alina's foot. Something went wrong with compress(?) and she burned her skin with dimexidum(?).

I also heard this. Trankov said Alina had a chemical burn on her leg.

:sad4:

I heard that Daniil was a commentator on 1tv today.
He said that it was just a silly mistake (from her and her Grandma while they were doing something like compress) and a bad luck. nothing really serious.

Yes, Alina had a chemical burn on her leg, grandma was doing a medical compress with Dimexid , wrong proportion I think

What is going on? that awful hematoma or whatever it was on her left ankle in Vancouver and now this chemical burn? smh. I know she's tough but I have to think these injuries are affecting her skating for the worse. this is just supposed to be a stabilizing year for a Alina and that's what I want it to be. She's trying to make the next Olympic team and she has a chance to do so but I certainly don't want her shortening her career buy skating with injuries to her lower extremities. Alina is kind of playing Russian roulette with these injuries. Too bad one of her parents doesn't travel with her and say hey you can't skate that looks bad and you're in pain so you going to have to miss this competition. With the sambo-70 machine there will always be another skater coming. Alina has to watch out for herself first and foremost.

At this point I'm just hoping she can end the season on an upswing and healthy.

Nice little, stealthy interaction with Med at the 9:05 mark.

I know she's all smiles the gala, but I always feel like Alina performs with a heavier heart than the skaters. This competition in a sense could be more devastating than her World's performance. She's the Olympic champion, has endorsements, and supposed to be the leader of her team. She's facing the real prospect that she might not be the 2nd or 3rd best skater in her group.

I can't help but feel a little sadness for her when she said cried a lot when she first moved to Moscow, tears up about not having her Mom around, wants to contribute financially to her parents well being, or when she talks about how she wants continue to succeed at skating so she can afford to have her parents move to Moscow with her. I don't know enough about Anna's, Sasha's, or Alena's personal lives, but it doesn't seem like they have same struggles.

I think Nathan Chen said one of the reasons he wanted to go to college was develop more personal friendships since figure skating can be a lonely existence. Sasha Cohen said she doesn't miss skating than much because skating was bit of an isolating experience.

I know Alina she said she and Med aren't bffs and doesn't text or communicate her, but I hope little interactions like these can lead to simple things like congratulatory texts after competitions. The skating world is big enough and better off having both of them happy, on or off the podium.

She thanked the ice at 9:22, did you see it? It is was so discreet and genuine that even the cameraman almost missed it. When they are all going out of the rink, she touches the ice and then her lips, I think. Oh, Alina is incredibely sweet. I love how genuine and private she is.

Alina does this all the time. She did it at the Olympics, and in Japan, but this competition was a different kind of special to her.

Go Alina! :hap10:

Sorry if this is a double post, but I can't seem to find my original response.

I noticed this too! She has the sensitivity, thoughtfulness, and empathy of someone much older. She is such a quiet, visceral person. I just want to give her a hug and tell her that she is an amazing human and role model! :)

That’s a super genuine Alina moment, since the Olympics I’ve noticed her doing this.

Another mark of her deep love for Figure Skating and her commitment to her craft.

Gee, isn't it obvious? It's kind of cool, sensual, she's sort of flirting with the audience. Or it's just simply amazing to see how she's doing it and it gives pleasure to immerse in her beauty a la Lara Croft... ;)
