I have the same mixed feelings. As a fan of Alina, the competitive athlete, I'm sad not to see her compete. On the other hand this season feels so uncertain and strange who knows what is actually going to happen? We may not have seen her compete regardless due to the logistics of trying to hold international competitions in circumstances that are still unclear.
When she took a break last season and covid happened it seemed she had chosen wisely to opt out of a season that ended prematurely. Now this season is also uncertain at best, so maybe she is choosing wisely again?
As a fan of Alina, the person, I am happy for her to have this experience. And happy I will be able to watch it on YouTube.
Good points. I think the uncertainty from the pandemic is going to push some skaters in another direction. We don't know if that's the case with alina but it may very well be. She may be thinking why do all that training and then have only limited competitions to attend?
First things first let's see her at test skates.
