Alina Zagitova and Kamila Valieva flashed in front of the public in Moscow
The Olympic champion-2018 performed as part of the demonstration performances of the Grand Prix in figure skating
The Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix stage in figure skating ended today in Moscow with demonstration performances. Together with the winners and prize-winners of the tournament, the Olympic champion-2018 Alina Zagitova and the world champion among juniors-2020 Kamila Valieva presented their numbers.
Zagitova completed the singles performances in the first part. The 2019 World Champion performed a song to the track "Outro" of the French group M83. Daniil Gleikhengauz, choreographer of the Eteri Tutberidze group, staged it to Alina last year. The production is dedicated to Lyudmila Shalashova, Daniil's mother, former ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater. She worked with Alina, and this issue is a tribute to the memory of an excellent specialist and person. In the second half of the program, Zagitova appeared in the form of Esmeralda to the music from the musical Notre Dame. The premiere of this composition took place two weeks ago at the "Figure Skating Lovers" show.
Recall that Alina announced the suspension of her sports career in December last year. In the 2019/2020 season, she took second place at the Grand Prix stage in France after Alena Kostornaya, third in Japan, after again behind Alena Kostornaya and Rika Kihira and qualified for the final. In the final, after the second place in the short program, Alina finished six of the participants in the free program and took the final sixth place. Soon after returning to Russia, on the eve of the national championship, Alina announced the suspension of her career on Channel One. On New Year's holidays, the figure skating star became the headliner of the show of the Olympic champion Tatyana Navka.
In September 2020, Alina began to study at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) at the Faculty of Journalism, and as a host she began to participate in the filming of the popular Ice Age project, which for more than 10 years has been collecting high ratings on the First channel.
Despite the fact that Alina tries herself in new qualities, she does not close the door to professional sports for herself. It is not yet known whether the athlete who won all significant titles in figure skating will return.
This is what her many fans want. Indeed, at the moment, Alina Zagitova is one of the most popular athletes in Russia, even those who have never watched her performances know her name.
