Good luck to Detroit area skater Alissa Czisny, who was chosen to replace Michelle Kwan at Skate America. I have seen Alissa perform live. She is a very pretty skater, and an outstanding spinner. If she lands her jumps securely, she has a chance to place well in this event.

:agree: I agree, she's an interesting and talented young woman. I've enjoyed watching her the last two years at nationals. This is a really big break for her; hope she's able to make a good showing.

I saw her skate live at Mids in 2004 and Nats in 2003. She is a delightful skater with lovely spins and elegant spirals. When (if) she gets consistent on her jumps she'll be right up there. SA is a terrific opportunity for her to put herself on the map!
