Piel I totally agree about Lakisha's wardrobe... being a big girl myself I always feel over exposed if I have a lower cut top on... I just don't get it (there's confident and just plain embarassing, and she's flirting with it)
as for the lisp... when you cannot enunciate words, it's either a lisp or you're too lazy to make it so that people can understand you. The way she talks in interviews makes me assume she has a lisp. I am not knocking her for it, but it is incredibly distracting to me... it has nothing to do with how she looks or anything like that.
Blake has a very distintive voice, I keep getting a sting vibe... I don't know I guess that certain lilt in his voice makes me think that way...
the beatbox is cool, but I just didn't feel it from him last night... then again aside from Melinda's second song, and Jordin's first two... I was really bored with it overall...

OK, now I see what you mean. Well, some singers do strange things with their mouths when they sing; Blake apparently just covers up all his teeth with his lips and the skin nearby. (And based on these pictures, only seems to sing in vowels...
) Come to think of it, the main time you DO see his teeth is after the song when they're listing the numbers and he does that grin thing.
On another note -- Man, that was NOT good lighting for him at all.
The camera DOES seem to add 10 pounds.... He looks much better on TV.
{Kinda refreshing in a sick way to be making comments like this about the MALE contestants as opposed to the ladies, isn't it? Usually the ladies get the brunt of things like this..... }
But ON that note....
Piel -- I should think your average bra can only do SO much when it comes to -- er -- certain body types. I rather suspect that LaKisha is a lady who probably requires some extra engineering in the "intimate apparel" department..... Actually, last night I didn't think her wardrobe choices were as -- questionable -- as they have been in previous weeks.

True.......how about that outfit last week (I think) that looked like she had a big ole' red life saver around her waist
? I have no problem with cleavage but there have been times that it looked like the twins were going to join her on stage.

I really thought we'd be saying goodbye to Blake... really surprised that the one I was hoping would stay (of the bottom two) stayed...

I thought Blake was gonna go, too. He should have been eliminated just for wearing one of those tacky "tuxedo" T-shirts.....
re. LaKisha's "red life saver" ensemble -- well, on closer examination, that whole deal is basically a variation of the "Empire waist" (or as my friend Mo refers to it, "boob waist") and I don't think that looks good on ANY woman, but ESPECIALLY not on someone built like LaKisha....
One thing about having Blake in the Final 3 over LaKisha is it will at least provide more VARIETY; instead of having 3 ladies who can stand up there and "belt it out", we'll just have 2 ladies who can "belt it out" plus 1 sound effects guy.... Actually, that probably has a lot to do with why LaKisha went home at this point, since there are two other "belters" in there already.
Don't the judges pick one song for the Final 3 to sing? If so, I'll be very interested to see who gets to choose for Blake and what they choose for him -- he's definitely the tricky one to choose for; Melinda and Jordin have proven that they can (more or less) sing just about anything, but Blake.......

I really can't see Blake beating either Jordin or Melinda (maybe one, but not both), but who knows??

DOES THAT DAMN RESULTS SHOW REALLY NEED TO BE AN HOUR LONG???? I didn't tune in until 9:45, just at the point where Ryan told Jordin she was safe and to sit down, and then -- THEN!! -- Barry Gibb came out to perform and I was like, he hasn't performed YET???? Ryan just NOW told someone to go sit down??? What have they been DOING for the last 45 minutes????? What bothered me too was I wanted to see how the others comforted Lakisha. They all seem to be really close. I loved Melinda's reaction when Lakisha was singing her last song.

I only watch the last 10 minutes of the results show, too. There were some good shows on other channels at the same time. I watched one about bones found in England of Roman soldiers on one of our PBS channels.

Well Blake tried to walk her down the stairs and she pushed him away... I was thinking she was ticked that he tried to steal more of her thunder (After all they were the bottom two)
but then I had to make some drama in my head as we've had a pretty tame season lol
merrywidow we watched that too, but it was on before AI started
Pink sang in the first half of the show, and the gang went to a showing of Fantastic Four so they did a big thing on that, and then they interviewed Jessica Alba (the other cast members were there but it was all about Jessica)
and they did a promotional thing for the AI tour

Hmmm, didn't notice the "push", but I personally would have enough to deal with at that moment without having someone hanging on me. I should imagine it's hard enough to walk around the auditorium and sing and be aware of where the camera is as it is, especially under such emotional circumstances, without having someone that close to you. Too much to keep track of.
(Of course, I would NEVER do the "go amongst the people and sing" approach anyway; I get too easily distracted.... )
