American Idol - Season 7

I taped the episodes this week (4/15 & 4/16) and I'm just NOT going to have time to watch them. I can't believe I've gone "unspoiled" this long without hearing or reading about who went home this week!!! Guess I'll have to go lookint around on the internet for the answers!
I'm not enthused about trying to make time to watch the taped apisodes from this week because I am so hugely NOT a Mariah Carey fan and I don't know any of her music, so I'd probably find the performances boring and hard to judge since I'm not familiar with the songs.

it was a decent week, Patch!

Kristy finally went home... Brooke was in the bottom 2

Jason Castro is my favorite, it's official.

rumors flying this week - David Cook is dating Benji Schwimmer (So You Think You Can Dance)'s sister.. who was in the finale last season... I can't remember her name and I liked her! how sad is that? They met during idol gives back (which I forgot to gush about Benji being on the show! BENJI IS LOVE! LOL)

Lacey, isn't it?
Oh, and I'm still less than enthused about this season's Idol contestants. I am anticipating a few entertaining train wrecks next week when Andrew Lloyd Weber makes his appearance, though.

Thanks for the update, Toni!
We're going to the Phillies game tomorrow (4/19) afternoon (and we better beat those pesky Mets whom we lost to tonight), so maybe I'll have time to watch my tape after the game.
There just isn't enough time in a day for me this time of year! You'll notice I'll almost disappear from the forum until maybe September....unless we get a real bad hot spell when I hibernate inside with the a/c on.

awwwwwww I always hate when Patch goes MIA... you'd think after... what?... six years I'd be used to it...

Broadway should definitely favor David A -- IMHO, his voice is much more suited for that type of thing than for pop music, anyway. (Of course, I also said the same thing about Clay Aiken, so what do I know??)

The only person I saw sing the other night, due to a "misprogrammed VCR" snafu, was Jason, and I thought he was terrific; I think that was actually his best performance. Overall, I'm not overly upset about missing the episode; I was unaware that it was Mariah "Listen To Me Shriek" Carey Night, and I consider Ms. Carey to be one of the most annoying singers on the planet and I tend to head for the hills whenever I hear any of her music.

ITA that Brooke needs to step it up -- she's been losing momentum the last couple of weeks. I really like her and would like to see her in the Final 3, but at this rate....:disapp:

Ryan said something to David C about him having an emotional week or something along that line -- anyone know anything about that??

I also notice they did the "Take Your Place Among Who You Think IsThe Top 3" thing and I absolutely HATE that. It puts them in a completely awkward position, and they always have to choose the nicest person in the group to do it to. They might as well just ask them flat out, which of these two groups do you think sang the crappiest last night?

Actually, when we first "met" over on the old SF, I wasn't into the Phillies yet! I spent more time in the flower garden/yard during the spring/summer back then. Now, my flowers suffer because the Phillies are on just about every night of the week starting April and I just HAVE to watch the games. I'm totally hooked on Phillies! And I do sneak to the Phillies MB to post every now and then, too. Watching the Phillies is a better pass-time as I age, though!

I agree with that!

I've been thinking that for the last couple weeks, not counting this week which I haven't seen yet but will try to look at when I get home this evening.

His brother who is terminally ill (brain tumor) was given clearance to go to the show, and their hometown paid to charter a plane to take him to the show (with a couple of nurses). So his brother was in the audience this week and it was just a bit overwhelming from what I understand.

JohnnyCoop: Clay Aiken is appearing on Broadway in "Spamalot" & has received very good reviews. So you see you weren't wrong about Clay.

While sitting in the parking lot after the ball game last evening, we saw a tour bus pull out of the bus lot with a big "billboard" ad on the side of it for Clay in this show!

he's not as puffy since being on the show... I know he was on meds for a while that seemed to plump him up, he seems way happier this year...

I'm currently watching season 2 on Idol Rewind and they're down to the final two... man that was a tough finale for me!

Tougher on me Toni. I had a heart attack 10 minutes before the final results were announced. I blame it all on being such a big Clay Aiken fan! This time I don't expect Jason Castro to win so I'm staying calm.

I figured he'd end up there eventually (tho not necessarily with THAT particular musical ), but it was his "pop" success that kind of stunned me, tho I don't know why.

 why did I not know this????????

I had the flu that weekend and I still say he lost because I fell asleep half way through the speed dialing hours... I dropped the ball! *cries*

I just read on another board that Jason is suffering from a cold & that Jordin Sparks has a vocal chord injury.
