Anastasia Tarakanova

Have you guys heard she decided to stay in juniors for another season? I wonder what you think about this decision.

I've said it a couple months ago and I think is a good decision to stay in juniors. The seniors field is going to be a bloodbath and she can easily get to JWorlds and perfect her technique before going to seniors. I don't think we should worry if she does not go to seniors next season, she's a sort of "later bloomer" and she'll have more years to prove her value.

Spring break on the Red Sea? Does this mean Anastasiya thinks her competitive skating season has finished already?

I'm not too much familiar about russian junior competitions but if there are still some to take place, it would be probably only some minor local events, so this is probably the end of the competitive season for Nastya.

The problem is that junior field is not gonna be any less tough. With 3 new Eteri girls coming (Valieva, Usacheva, Khromykh) + Alena Kanysheva who Was 3D at GPF and also moved to Eteri + Ksenia Sinitsina who was 4th at this year JW. And who knows who else. I’m really worried about Anastasia and I feel that she may had her momentum in seniors next year just like Samodurova had.

I don't think so, Sofia was the only Junior who moved up, the 3A are all moving up this coming season.

Eteri's new girls are coming into Juniors, but they'll stay there a couple of seasons, so with any luck Nastya can have her debut Senior Season in 20-21 when things are a bit calmer. At least I hope so!

Considering the PCS she got at Senior Nats I think it'd be a bad move to try to go up - unless she gets a quad I suppose.

She is adorable. A fun girl. But where is her skating at right now? Is she still on track to become an elite skater?

I don’t know....personally I’d have some of her performances this season scored higher than a heck of a lot of seniors. What do I know though? This to me was the best we saw anyone skate all season :2thumbs:

I think its as simple as the fact that she isn't able to get a senior GP. I'm sure (or I hope) they'll still have her do challenger events (or at least one), and she'll do senior national events, she just won't be doing the GP circuit so why not do the junior GP instead. She'll be a junior/senior hybrid like you often see in one's first year of senior eligibility. Hopefully she'll be able to go to jgpf and/or junior worlds, especially the latter since she's never gone.

^ Yes!!! Go Anastasia. I don’t care where she skates but I need some of that fire next season!!!!

Wow! For an improvisation, that is incredible!

The process of fitting music to the skater, or fitting the skater to the music probably involves lots of improvisation at first.

Good to see Anastasiya is already working on next season's programs.
Let's hope we'll be able to admire her powerful skating in lots of competitions.

The incoming russian juniors aren't at 3A's level, at least if we think about the score potential. Alena's PCS and the quads are still far away for them. Valieva, who is the better one, have such a wonderful spins but the jumps have still room for improvements.

Anastasia need to build up again her momentum and gain the respect, both on PCS and GOEs, she deserve from the RusFed. She can do it.
If we think about it, both Kanysheva and Sinitsyna had their peaks this season but also a period of inconsistent performances.

Right now there's also no room for Anastasia to be at the Gran Prix. Gain a greater season best, along with some junior medals, need to be one of her objectives.
