Anastasia Tarakanova

OMG, this girl is 10 different levels of adorableness, and an absolutely fantastic skater to boot. Congratulations!

She decided she did need to fall today after all  At least she saved it for the medal ceremony!!

Where can we see the medal ceremony? I want to see that, it sounds hilarious and so like Nastya... And I also want to watch her get her medal. :)

Congratulations, Nastya! I am so happy for her, she really deserved this win! Her reaction shows how ambitious and dedicated she is, this gives me lots of hope for her future [emoji178] Everything worked today, her FS is amazing in every possible way and suits her perfectly. Now I am even more excited for the JGPF, it's gonna be soooo awesome![emoji76]

I just rewatched Nastya‘s skate and noticed something I hadn‘t before. Probably was so nervous I couldn‘t even focus but: This is the second time Ted said she was skating to Believer by Imagine Dragons. Hasn‘t anyone told him yet that she doesn‘t anymore? Or at least... didn‘t he notice last time... woops, whatever that is, it isn‘t Imagine Dragons?

Yeah, it's hard to believe any skating fan can not recognize Moonlight Sonata. Most likely it's occured because Ted was somewhat dissapointed and irritated by russian domination at that point. I think it was the first time where I thought that he wasn't impartial and actually I felt by his comments that he really wanted that Kawabata or any nonrussian would win - therefore he wanted that Tarakanova/Tarusina skated somewhat badly. He didn't praise their superb performances like always and spoiled Tarakanova's joy by hinting on possible Kawabata win. At one time he even began to make excuses about his impartialness saying that he of course wants good skating for everyone implying but there )

???

I‘m sorry but I‘m a bit confused by this comment. I watched Nastya‘s skate again and Ted was talking very nicely of her. Said that this clean skate was a personal achievement for her, that she overcame her problems in the SP and all she went through this past year with changing coaches and that even if she doesn‘t win, she should be proud of what she did here. I don‘t even think he was necessarily talking about Tomoe here but rather Tarusina who had a clean FS and SP whereas Nastya made a mistake in the Short. So, it wouldn‘t have been unrealistical to assume she could end up being 2nd. And had Tomoe been clean, she probably would have won anyway with her lead from the SP and overall better GOE worthy jumps. I know he said something about Russians having been on top of every single JGP podium for a while now but he didn‘t seem disappointed or frustrated about it. It was a mere comment, pointing out that this could be the event where this domination ended since a Japanese lady was in the lead, not a Russian one.

I don‘t see anything bad in Ted‘s commentary at all. I don‘t know why he wasn‘t notified that Nastya‘s music has changed but we have to keep in mind that he‘s commentating on all the disciplines on the JGP circuit, not only ladies. How many competitors are there, with how many different programs? A lot. It‘s likely he simply forgot.

I think that's a bit far fetched. Ted was likely to be just reading off an ISU info list and her ISU bio still says that the fs music is Believer. Obviously he wont be able to remember each skater music personally.

nonsense.

anyways so happy for Anastasia. great win and her happiness was heartwarming.

Yaaays! I'm so happy for Nastya! As soon as I woke up this morning YouTube had recommended her FS to me and I watched right away. So awesome!

Also did I imagine it or did she bite her fist before going into the last jump? If so was that nerves or an odd choreography decision

She's going to JGPF!! :yahoo:

Also no dissing of Ted :roll5:! He was reading off the ISU provided info (it mustn't have been updated yet). Since her music hadn't started there was no way he could have know it was Moonlight Sonata.
