Anastasia Tarakanova

I have a question. She skates open-mouthed, and I personally find this distracting. Does she have nasal congestion and has to breathe through her mouth or just a bad habit? Genuinely curious question.

I finally got to see her program from today. Man...she’s awesome in so many ways and you can tell she is going to fight to be as good as she can be. I love the little wink at the end. Can’t wait to see the Moonlight Sonata and I’m praying for that trademark arms up power fists after she has a great skate.

Go Nastya Go...you got this :yahoo:

I think Pluschenko is taking Tarakanova on a path that people were hoping Evgenia would take by moving to Orser. Pluschenko has refined so much Nastya's skating in a very short time, they kept her strong sides (Lz, spins) and are working on improvements.

Sure, all girls that left Eteri are improving so much. The best proof are their results.

I think she should move the combo in the SP to the first half. If she messes the combo so often it only hammers her score. And SP placement is very important for PCS in LP.

Does someone know why Nastya doesn’t wear hairspray during competitions? I love her skating but I find the hair distracting.... maybe its just me but I would like her to do her hair better!!! Good luck on the Free Skate!!!

I don't understand why people get so offended. Eteri's school is No.1 and produces winners, no one is denying that. And yes, the girls that left her recently are messed up. I just pointed out that Tarakanova is kind of a surprise because I personally expected that she would be doing far worse than she actually is. Many people are sceptical about Pluschenko's coaching but I think he also contributed to some improvements in her technique, like when she jumps it doesn't look as scary as it used to. She had better results last season but getting high scores doesn't always mean pleasant skating.

Tomoe has big, powerful jumps so I can see her getting ahead of Nastya if both are clean. (Especially since Tomoe has about a 3 point difference to her advantage already) I‘m still hoping for the best for Nastya.

I also can‘t understand why it‘s always in the SP. Maybe it‘s a stamina issue but then why not move the combo to the first half? Better a 3Lz-3T without bonus than a 3Lz-2T with bonus.. But she was so good in the FS last time so I think it might be nerves more.

I wish her all the best, though. Go Nastya Go!! :cheer:

Don't worry, dear Fluture! Nastya can do it since Tomoe is so inconsistent. Prayer circle for a clean free from Nastya!!

I don't think it was about being offended. We in Czech Republic are not millenial snowflakes instantly offended by anything. It was just expression of skepticism over the conclusion of the original comment. Because when it comes to skepticism, we are masters os the universe on this filed

Yes, after watching Evgenia and especially Polina, I can help being skeptical. But in case of Nastya, I still believe she can win tomorrow. :cheer:
And who knows, maybe Dasha will be in great shape and will win this weekend, too. OK, I'm more skeptical there, especially because she goes against Anna.. ;)

I think the Sp is better ... I think her jumps are better in the air ... looking at them I don't think she is going to fall ... I have is a problem with her hair and her red lipstick ... it's to much for a 14 years old ... put only gloss or another red ...

Uhh, this is a bit odd to read. After all, Tarakanova was known as a skating skill phenom well before she entered the junior circuit. And not only do I think her last season's programs fit her perfectly, I also think that she displayed very strong skating skills during them. So it's hard for me to really agree with you on your assessment of her in the past.

So yes, she has very good edge work... But she has had very good edge work for a long time. In that regard, I'm not really sure how much Plushenko's done...

You forget about her sick she was hospitalised. Many people thought she will lose her jumps, but she is good, really good! So I don't understand why do you write a little bit negative comments about their work with Plushenko...hmmm..or I have a tipp..:disagree::dumb:

I don't like Eteri School, any problem?
