Anastasia Tarakanova

She is a kool kid for sure. Anastasiya has that special 'punch' in the way she presents herself, commanding voice, authoritative glare. She is one to reckon with.

Welcome to the life of a pro skater, Anastasiya. You now have sponsor obligations ;-)

But these obligations could all pay back handsomely by a nice discount on a pre-built cottage somewhere outside of Moscow once she has retired and wants to start her own family.

Tarakanova is taller than Trusova but looks about as powerful. What are Anastasiya's options when it comes to high value quad jumps? A triple Axel would be the next logical addition to her repertoire once she is a senior but is she ambitious enough to become a member of the Distinctive Elite Quad League?

Is she taller?

OMG! They are very small! And Kostornaya is even shorter!:reye:!

Those are old figures though, most likely from early to mid last year when 2018/19 season started.
Kostornaya is still the oldest but the smallest junior in the 14-15 year olds.
Kanysheva and Tarakanova seem to have grown taller the most.

Very happy she is healthy!!

After not competing in the Russian Cup Final I think we can be sure to see her another season in the JGP.

I said it somewhere else but I’d like to say it here too :o:

Anastasia’s FS program this year is one of my favorite programs in many years. It just feels from the heart and is exactly what I like to see in a program. It’s very creative, thoughtful and filled with flourishes of brilliance. There aren’t many programs I can watch on repeat but this is one of them.

I’m not sure if there is a performance with more conviction and commitment to powerful skating and emotion that I’ve ever seen. I already watched the link I’ve provided twice tonight....I’ll probably click it again too ;)

Please stop, I should be working and not rewatching this right now.. But it sure was something... I should mention that this version of the song suits her perfectly...

I've just created her OP (the previous one had very little information). I've added all the programs and results and all the videos I could find. I hope you'll enjoy it.

BTW, could some Russian speaker translate the following expressions that form part of the Elements segment in the Russian younger age competitions? I don't include the Elements scores in the Results table, but make remark about the points received below the table. I've already did so in Sofia Samodurova's thread and would like to include the English translation in both her and Anastasia's OPs:

прыжок
каскад
комбинация вращений
дорожка шагов

Thanks a lot for your help!

дорожка шагов - step sequence

According to ISU bios, Nastya is 154 cm and Sasha is 150 cm

I am sure they are a little bit taller than what they are listed at. They are amazons compared to Alysa Liu! ;) To me Nastya T is so mature for 14. She looks 16.

If you look at the interview Ted Barton did with Nastya and Sasha and Alena after last year's Junior Worlds Nastya seems much taller than her two teammates.

She’s attempted a quad in competition this year and has expressed a plan to eventually include one in her layout

I didn’t know she was going for the 3a

Glad she is, pure power skater! Hopefully she'll master her new jumps and combos for competitive use in next season. New boots, new blades, new moves ;-)
