Anastasiia Gubanova

I wonder what chance there is of Nastya going senior next season. It would be great if she could make it to JW and get a high SB, but I am afraid Eteri's girls won't let her. Anyway, being in the top 6 and Nationals should get her a place on the senior reserve Russian team for next season.

+1... really hoping that Nastya stands a chance for the Rostelecom Cup host pick spot next season too

Loved her FS at Nationals... such elegant, breathtakingly beautiful skating... and a great choice of music, that suits her so well.

I am so happy after seeing her two performances. It was wonderful to watch. But I am also so sad right now. As I just said in another thread, the competition in russia for ladies is quite unfair because due to that a lot of wonderful talent such as Nastya will not have a chance to go to olympics while in another country their would be the rising star.
She is just so hypnotic when she is on the ice. I have the opinion that for being a star in russia since 3-4 it is better to be part of Eteri group or CSKA (CSKA for the bonus that you have during nationals, I am thinking about the score of Sotskova after her FS at Nationals, and also thinking about maybe 2 years ago when a lot of people were advicing Radionova to go to CSKA to have a chance to go to Olympics) ....
Nastya such as other talent of course, deserve to go to euros, worlds and even Olympics.

I agree but the biggest reason she cant is because she is not old enough. Possibility to see her at jr worlds, though.

Yeah of course I know that she is a little bit too young at the moment, I was not thinking about this year only but also about the next years... When you are watching over the incredible young ladies that are coming or even already there (thinking about Kostornaya already on the podium of senior ladies) I am scared

And yes I really hope for JR World, the third spot is still not really sure (If we say that Trusova and Kostornaya already almost have the two first spots)

Miss domestc overscore aka konstantinova is almost a lock for the third spot. Which is a shame because in russia a 17 yo really should be in seniors instead of blocking young talent.

My dream for jr worlds is shcherbakova kostornaia gubanova. All the best junior artists.

Totally agree with you for Konstantinova, nothing to add.
I just have a question: If I have understood everything Konstantinova is in "reserve" for euros doesn't that mean that for the fed she is still not really a junior (even if she has done JGP this year) ? And so doesn't it means that they are not thinking of putting her in the list for JR World?
Maybe I am completely wrong but I was thinking about it last night.

We have the same dream, I miss Scherbakova so much this year... we still don't know if she will compete this year, some people talk about her come back for russian junior national but I am really not sure at all. But I am so in love with her and ready to wait until test skate in August if it is better for her health !!

I’ve really fallen in love with the free program this season. At first it seemed lacking compared to Romeo and Juliet and almost a bit disjointed but she has really turned it into a nice program. Not sure if there are any Harry Potter fans in this thread but the music reminds me of Prisoner of Azkaban a little and especially the time travel scene.

My wish is she turns senior and breaks out of the Junior system. I think the international judges will reward her well at senior level. If she were only American....she could come win our Nationals rather easily skating the way she has in her last three events. I just hope she doesn’t get frustrated with the scores (200 is a great thing) and I know she probably wants to stay in St Petersburg BUT.........maybe she needs to go to Pluschenko for some reputation and political swag. It’s sondumb it works this way because her coaches have done an amazing job!!

Not so sure about this -- Tarakanova is also a force to be reckoned with and could podium at Jr Nats. Hoping for Trusova Korstornaia Gubanova though.

I dont know their plans for konstantinova and junior nats. I just assume she is still considered a junior by them with the jgp assignment. I hope not because ladies like Gubanova deserve their shot. In a country like Russia skaters who get so competitive scores should be nowhere near jr nats when in their 3rd senior eligible season.

As for Anya: http://www.sportvokrug.ru/competitions/3022//participants/

She is listed under jr ladies for this competition on 13-14 january. I guess no one else caught this? Even the fan vk site hasnt made a mention.

Once again agree with you ...
Oh yes for anya, nobody talks about it at all, really don't know if it will occur. I just had heard about Junior nats but not about this competition.

It is crazy to think such a talent might not get sent to JWC or WC... :sad21:
That would be a huge shame but there still is time for her. Unfortunately though, last season was her chance because of this season's juniors being so strong. She really messed her chances up with her performance at the nationals.

I wonder what she is doing in Italy? Vacation or just making time for an authentic slice of Pizza!

🍕🍕🍕

Ooh, I've been waiting for the return of that!

So she's planning on going all out and doing her 3Lz-3Lo combo again at the nationals? Very exciting!
