Anastasiia Gubanova | Page 36 | Golden Skate

Anastasiia Gubanova

YAY, she skated clean SP at the Golden Spin. I think she got 69.56 points, assuming I heard it right. She is 2nd after SP.

Gosh, that is harsh of the panel. A nice skate, though, and Nastya is on track for 200+ overall.
Thanks for the link. A cheering start to a tense day of skating ups and downs.

it's ridiculous for the panel to do that over one stinking second.

Nice job by Anastasia she's in good shape for the Free State unless she several points behind the leader.

Her SP at the Golden Spin.

Those time violation deductions are irritating. She started her program on time and she finished it on time but still her program was 1s too long.

That was a beautiful skate by a beautiful skater. Thank you for the video. I'm just disappointed Nastya didn't score well into the 70s with that performance. smh. Now I'm not a figure skating expert per se but I've seen lesser short programs get 70 or above new season.

10th could be enough for a GP next season, I dont think any russian under her is going to pass her (unless konstantinova somehow gets sent to euros and slay there, unlikely!) and there has been talk of Liza T quitting after this season wich would give her the 9th highest SB of the russians and hopefully give her 2GPs. Another way to achive this is one of the 3A staying in junior which I think is less likely but not impossible.

There is also the possibility of someone like Medvedeva retireing if she doesnt get her jumps together by the end of the season. Or Zagitova if she starts to struggle (more) with her jumps and isnt content being russian #4

None of this may come to pass but I dont think we should give up hope of a GP for next year yet

Hope is not lost which is why I said I hope she has her best skates at Nationals because if you look at the SB she can still compete for the 3rd spot. I just didn't want to spell it out as not to jinx it.

Yes a good skate at nationals should be her next big goal. It is not impossible to become a part of the worlds and euros team but I think the main contenders are Zagitova, Tuktamysheva, Medvedeva and Samodurova.

If Samodurova was consistently scoring 70+ in the SP and 140+ in the free then sure, but she is not. She is scoring no better than Gubanova and that's with clean skates. Medvedeva is a ????? I see a lot of ladies fighting for that 3rd spot and it wont just be between Medvedeva and Samodurova. But since this is Gubanova's fan thread enough about them.

I hope her best skates are to come ;) Just 2 more clean skates!

Happy Birthday, Nastya! Best of luck at Golden Spin; get those 200 points! :agree:

it's like the judges won't give her 200 points overall this season nor will they give her 70 points on the short program and surely she deserved that. Nastia had a good weekend and I hope it continues the rest of the season.
