He did withdraw from Nebelhorn, because of an injury from several weeks ago. It wasn't serious, but took away training time, so he was unable to prepare. Reportedly he is back on the ice now, but his jumps weren't going to be ready for Nebelhorn.
He has the ability to be brilliant in his "overall skating", but tends to be very lacking in confidence. I hope that this year he will be able to pick up from the Russian Nationals from last season, and not the Europeans that immediately followed. He has taken measures to work on his confidence and consistancy recently, I'm hoping they will help him, and the will come through with what he is capable of.
