I just wanted to let everone know that according to the ISU website he has been added to the cup of Russia. I guess this was the TBD spot that we all thought Evegeny was going to get!!

Evgeni's agent said a couple of weeks ago that he was not going to do CoR. It makes sense Andrie Griazev got the spot since it was the only one that had just one assigment.

I've seen Girazev do incredibly high jumps. Arguably the highest in Mens's competition, for me. But his overall skating is just not there.

He is wonderful to watch, but seems to have little self-confidence. I hope he is healthy, in a good frame of mind and gets a chance to do this event.

He did withdraw from Nebelhorn, because of an injury from several weeks ago. It wasn't serious, but took away training time, so he was unable to prepare. Reportedly he is back on the ice now, but his jumps weren't going to be ready for Nebelhorn.

He has the ability to be brilliant in his "overall skating", but tends to be very lacking in confidence. I hope that this year he will be able to pick up from the Russian Nationals from last season, and not the Europeans that immediately followed. He has taken measures to work on his confidence and consistancy recently, I'm hoping they will help him, and the will come through with what he is capable of.

You really have to wonder the mindset of all these Russian men now though. If Plushenko does make it to Nationals somehow, with only 1 spot, does anyone else really have a shot?

Unfortunately, no. But if Plushenko doesn't make it to nationals, there are a whole bunch of guys around the same level who all have a shot.

I really hope that Andrei has a good season and is able to build on his performance from last year's Russian Nationals. He definitely has the goods but needs to believe in himself. Good luck to him!
