In Saransk he presented his FS perfectly too, not counting the mistake on the triple axel. Alas, we can only guess what place he could have taken at the World Championships (if he had made the national team)

It’s always hard to say with Mozalev. But always suspenseful to watch. He needs a big win on senior level, but he needs luck strike twice for it to happen, unless he achieves a breakthrough on either TES or on PCS.In Saransk he presented his FS perfectly too, not counting the mistake on the triple axel. By the way, Andrei is one of only two Russian male figure skaters who has been able to compete in both the Youth Olympics and the Senior Olympics, and has been able to compete in two Olympics

This was a repost video of skating by Aleksandra, one of the leaders of the Mosalev Team, Andrei's official fan club, whose organizers know Andrei and his coaches personally and keep in touch with them.
And these girls are also obsessed with Andrei's skating, and as adults they got up on skates to try to one day perform Andrei's step sequence with him. It was a repost in support of an aspiring skater.

I really admire their efforts. I only went as far as getting a carbonara recipe to cook when Mozalev competes, so now my husband calls it skaters’ pasta. Lol.

Also, yay, Mozalev has both his programs ready for new season already (has anyone doubted that?). And his motivation is unwavering, ‘cause some people worry, and Mozalev just skates through it. Aww, maybe a hint what these programs are! Come on… inquiring minds want to know!
Edit: and of course Mozalev shows up on insta with a snapshot of clouds from a plane and meaningful words, ‘flying home’.
There, Mozalev aced that social media presence thing again.

Well, this appealing masculine bromance was meant for Elisei Ivanov, whose friends (and among them Andrei) arranged a party to wish him a happy birthday. I so like Andrei's friendship with the guys representing pairs skating, looking at them, he tries to look big, strong macho

After a heated discussion of Anna Scherbakova's new show number directed by Averbukh ( by Okudzhava's "Prayer"), I reviewed all of Averbukh's Okudzhava-inspired numbers. In my opinion, the number for Andrei came out the best, mostly due to Andrei's own presentation skills, as well as the clear message and emotional background

I love Okudzhava, and yes, I heard Scherbakova did it, so I was like, well, Averbukh decided to dig into that trove. I’d say the Prayer is a stronger song, but I haven’t seen Scherbakova skate to it. What I need is Mozalev skate to it. But, cautiously, I think neither has the intensity of delivery Prayer requires. It requires hidden passion/angst that Sherbakova simply is devoid of, and Mozalev has trouble showing when choreo is overwhelming…
But! given Mozalev has a definitive ballade in his catalogue, and Sherbakova doesn’t… I think, theoretically, he could have tried, even came close? But, on the other hand, his musical preferences included pretty much everything, except folk/urban romance, so…
And, gods be good, Prayer is a great alternative to the tired Ave Maria, particularly for internal market season!
He also can probably do Dutch King’s Drops. Or… hold on, I get it! You know which one is Mozalev? It’s, Persitent and Stubborn, Burn My Flame, Burn! Okay, that’s soooo Mozalev.
From other singers, it would be ironic if Sherbakova skated to one of Mikhail Sherbakov’s songs. Like Leukonoya maybe or 18th February or Lullaby …
Other music to look at with strong stories could be Vizbor, Yaschenko’s White Guard, White Snow…
