My poor boy. Anyway, it's much better than a year ago at this time. For the start of the season, it's not a bad skate. The program looks great, even with the falls.

I hope he didn't hurt his leg too badly. As for the mental problems, I think this loss affected him more than I would have liked .

I couldn’t bring myself to watch free skate after that short, tbh. Honestly, I can now only pray that they will have the confidence to go in the same direction as Kolyada is moving (along with international skating) and stop hitching their hopes on the second quad. He is not Malinin. He has plenty of room to grow artistically and put emphasis on skating skills. That’s what the next generation of skaters is doing looking at JGP results. For gods’ sake, there will be boys in the final with 2As, and most of them—without quads at all. The writing is on the wall. Clean, beautiful skating had won.

I was upset, until I watched the free program and found out that everything was not so terrible there, at least two mistakes out of three were the result of chance. In the warm-up Andrei performed all the elements cleanly, I think the reason was some distraction, lack of fitness or other factors related to the start of the season. I'll wait for the results of other competitions of the season, and then we can draw conclusions. There is a huge gap between Andrei of last September and Andrei of December, probably, this season there will be a similar result. Anyway, I don't lose my optimism.
