Andrei Mozalev

So far Andrei's fan-group says only that he will most likely miss the St. Petersburg Championship. There is no complete information about the Jumping Championships.
Andrei will miss the jumping tournament, but he is healthy and optimistic and has no regrets. Everything that happens, happens for a reason.

He really is a Shakespearean villain here or something like that

Scared for Mozalev, but also excited. Just worried that he was waiting to move training school for a year too long, but let's hope everything will work out. God, they will force him to jump 4F again...but maybe they will construct his programs smarter than Lunin

In fact, this news one has inspired me over the past months. In a situation of absolute hopelessness, Andrei was able to do something that not everyone would do. This is a very young man, incredibly attached to his city, leaving his family, friends, all his favorite places and habits, a measured way of life, habitual relationships and daily actions for the sake of trying once again... It's a really brave act.
I think Andrei values his talent too much to just give up the fight like that. Whatever comes next, well done to him.

4F doesn't necessarily, maybe they stabilizes what he has, it's strong enough content. If it turns out to be possible to achieve flawless execution of st.sq. and spins, as well as a high score for components, perhaps two toeloopes will be enough at first. I don't know what Andrei's goals are for the near future, I hope not to become Malinin in a month.
Right now he just really wants to train. He hasn't had training in his group since the end of December.

He gets to work closely with Dudakov or other jumping coaches Tutberidze has, who have a great grasp on jumping. Plus, as much as people like to look down on Gleihausen, he has a good grasp on what to add in the program without going overboard like Lunin, and he had some really successful picks for Fedotov. As long as Mozalev doesn't present his version of Roxanne or Halleluiah next year...but anyway, I had a feeling he could be a good fit with Tutberidze who always complains that men are not as motivated as women, and in this respect Mozalev is really motivated/hardworking. Plus, he will have access to Plushenko if he keeps cooperating with his shows, and that's a huge plus.

Anyway, I am intrigued, though I still would have preferred news on switching fed, now that his Olympic participation is past its expiry date for release. Moscow never believed tears, so...Godspeed

Also, sorry for a tiny nitpick, but its 'toe loop' in English (toe as in toe jump, loop as in loop jump).

The first training session with Dudakov seemed to go well, but an interview with the head coach ahead. I think it's going to be good.

Thanks, I make mistakes sometimes.

Zhulin is probably speaking out of his behind about potential transfer for Mozalev, but I hope there is fire with this smoke. Mozalev skating for another fed would be a dream come true. Just hope it's not too late and Mozalev could still skate internationally for a few years. Anyone know which fed they have in mind, like Israel or Hungary?

He has family in Germany, I saw a picture he posted of when he met his niece or cousin from Germany on his Instagram. Something tells me if he ever did transfer it would be to Germany.

Andrei`s IG:

"For 12 years I trained under the guidance of Kirill Anatolyevich Davydenko.
And the decision to stop working with him was very difficult for me! But there came a moment when I realized that without radical changes I would not be able to move on.
I left Kirill's group and intend to continue my sporting path in Moscow, in Eteri Tutberidze's group.
Thank you, Kirill Anatolievich, Denis Sergeyevich, Igor Alexandrovich, Olga Vladimirovna, for every day of our journey together, for all our victories and defeats, for how much you have invested in me and for what I am now!
Thank you, Kirill Anatolievich, Denis Sergeyevich, Igor Alexandrovich for the tremendous work you have done on the production of each of my programs, for non-standard approaches in choreography, for the unique selection of music. The experience I have gained with you is invaluable and I will keep it and multiply it!

Thank you very much to my native Academy and personally to the Director.
Menshikova Tatiana Anatolievna, for care, for responsiveness, for always being ready to listen and solve any problem.
I wish everyone success and great achievements.
And a new, hopefully very interesting chapter in my life has begun."

I am a little devastated at the latest news. Her past and current students Morisi, Erokhov, Rukhin, Daniel and Nika are not encouraging to me. I had hoped he would go to Mishin. Also, the fanbase can be quite scary. In addition, the mentoring at a weight loss TV show doesn't sit right with me either...

I would have said Georgia, Estonia or Poland, they have supportive feds and plenty of assignments. Is Spain too far-fetched? Germany makes sense too, but he would need to find funding elsewhere.

Andrei couldn't go to Mishin's for many reasons.
As for going for a foreign federation, he has no such plans now.
Let's just wish good luck to a courageous guy who has decided to change his life globally.

I had hoped he would go to Mishin.
I don't think it was ever an option, given factionism and how many guys transferred to Mishin recently. People from Moscow go to Piter, people from Piter go to Moscow.

Germany would be great, or anything, really, & the sooner the better!

I can just imagine Andrei finishing writing this post, hitting the "Send" button, feeling ready to cry a little, looking outside the window, seeing an unfamiliar city, feeling lost and thinking: What am I doing and where will it all lead....
But he has determination and perseverance, he'll get through it.

He's been skating in Moscow for the last few weeks in Plushenko's show with the other young people he knows from all the competitions. So, it is familiar by now, hopefully. And, if he is going to transfer, I hope he does it faster than moving to Moscow.

The show is a little different, it's like a vacation, and moving to Moscow is like emigration 🙂
I repeat, there is no reason to talk about a transfer yet.

Lol, I was born in Moscow and I have immigrated. Trust me, moving from Moscow to Piter or whatever is nothing like moving abroad.

As for transfer, we can only hope. If he sits on it for another year it will be too late. If he decides on it, he should start skating for his other country like next season in their Nationals, though RusFed will pretend he was in some sort of equivalent of international competition because he was in the Cup or some other BS, like they did with Shiryaeva.

And if his goal remains the second Oly, he has to move country rep now.

Well, at least the pairs that joined her recently are doing OK - maybe because their technical training is mostly still done by real pairs coaches like Perm or ex-Moser staff. I have a feeling she has become more of a manager who outsources technical areas to more qualified coaches. I knew one such individual, who could only command to do X move but was at a loss to explain how to do it and so either lost her temper to cover up her inadequacy or brought in guest coaches...

I just hope later fans will remember that Andrei's best qualities (skating skills, expression) were already present before this coaching change. He has a strong enough foundation that all she can offer is all he needs (i.e. consistency, packaging). I have my fingers crossed that he is mature enough to set his own boundaries when it comes to sustainable healthy training.

That's why I hope he will be able to get whatever he can, like Voronov, without any long lasting injury. And if Tutberidze can indeed facilitate transfer with the Fed, then even better.

I was really surprised when I saw this, was not expecting him to move coaches let alone cities and go to Tutberidze, I wish him all the best and success.
