Anna at Worlds II
Here are my thought about Anna in the SP, at Boston.
Gracie Gold has a huge spot in my heart and as a Gracie Gold supporter, I have to say that Anna was outskating her in the short and I want to show my appreciation and respect with this report.
Throughout her performance, Anna showed what a great fighter she is, when nobody believed in her, she did and there was not a single mistake in her routine. The triple Lutz was greatly attacked, far and high, the triple toe added with ease, great footwork overall and if our lovely Doris enjoys a female skater, then this says it all!
The skating by the Russian was very easy for the eye, not at all tight or worrying as so often with her, when you are afraid about her and just want to keep her close to you, so that nothing bad happens. Close and in peoples heart was her skate, she was the queen on ice, full of maturity and with a step sequence that still puts tears in my eyes. How this woman worked those steps, used her arms and hands to slow down and accelerate within, how she expressed her feelings and emotions with her whole body, it was marvelous and the best performance of the day by miles, unmatched and absolutely flawless.
I was up from my chair, I have never seen this lady skate in such a perfect way. It meant so much for her, the score of 73.98 points, could have been much higher if you ask me, the performance and execution of her elements, choreography and that superb interpretation, was spot on and untouched. My personal performance of the event so far, she deserves not only applause, but bows and standing ovations for this.
If she can deliver such a skate again in the Free, then there should be no other lady on 1 than her. To acknowledge and appreciate a skate can be the hardest if someone was better than your own hero as seen by the crowds reaction. Anna, I salute you and wish you the best of luck and a clean skate on Saturday!
