I believe it isn't that easy. You say she is an 'adult'. But just think about, who is really the adult here? If you dedicate your life to figure skating and Anna has been coached by Anna since 2004, when she has been 6 years old, then this seems a highly complicated relationship. Anna Tsareva obviously has an ego. It's not the first time she's been critizised. At Worlds, she seemd slightly supportive, but look back at other competitions when Anna 'bombed' at 16/17. She seems sulky and disappointed with Anna, when this is obviously not what is needed. Through better and worse doesn't seem to be the motto.
Reading this article just made me so so sad

I cannot believe this is what her coach said to her according to google translate :
“This is just what you could hear on TV from the corner of kiss & cry:
Tsareva: Why are you dying, do you have a leg or what? Do not you think that you need to roll the program more from beginning to end in training? What would be more than once a week, and more often? You speed, then dial, and then rytberger as from the place you do. You ride like a lifeless.
Pogorilaya: Look at how you pulled me.
Tsareva: I'm not going to approach you at all, you'll be the only one to go to competitions.
”
How could Tsareva have said such heartless words to a severely injured Anna after such painful falls? When Anna fell on the spin, she was right in front of where I was sitting, and her scream from the pain was so audible that the audience really felt for her. For a moment, I thought she would not get up but she did and finished the program. How brave that was! After the skate, Tsareva also made a “wtf” gesture

that was probably not caught on the TV...
I was sitting right next to Tsareva during trainings and I could hear their conversations. Unfortunately I don’t understand Russian, but it was definitely pretty harsh and aggressive, both of them to each other. Also at a point, her coach demanded her to jump around the rink non-stop, and Anna did it with a heavy corset/back support on her waist...Actually none of the other ladies jumped as much as Anna, and obviously did not fall as much and hard as Anna did. Btw, Anna was always the last one to get off the ice. Her work ethic is crazy! Ashley Wagner did not jump at all and left the rink like after 15min during the training before FS. Mind you that the training was so early, 7am before SP and 6am before FS...
What I want to say is really that Tsareva is incompetent, apathetic and narcissistic...Maybe she cares more about how she looks in her pink Louis Vuitton skirt than how Anna is feeling both physically and mentally. I would even describe their relationship as abusive ...
As for a coach change if Anna’s back injury heals, I would suggest something controversial: How about Morozov? He had successfully dealt with skaters who were fragile psychologically (Miki Ando) and those who experienced deep downs (Dennis Ten), and even what he did with Weaver/Poje is prett impressive as they are looking really good this year. Morozov also knew Anna very well for a long time as her choreographer, and he spoke very fondly about Anna, praising her work ethic and saying that “she’s an ideal athlete.” And even Anna mentioned that they have a good relationship. Of course, there is the danger as we all fear due to his notorious past with young female students, but Anna is not 18 anymore and is the same age as his wife...I just hope that he’s satisfied with his love life and Anna is not his type, so he would not prey on Anna...and he’s getting old...The point is at this moment, no coach who wants immediate result would accept Anna considering her age, injury and past meltdowns, so she really does not have many choices.
Well, the most important thing for Anna right now is to get well, both physically and mentally. I really hope that RUS federation would make the best efforts to help such a beautiful and talented young woman to overcome probably the hardest period in her life! As a fan, it really saddens me that there is so little we can do to help her, seeing how much suffering she has to endure. All we can do is to offer our unconditional love and support for her and voice our opinions and hopefully someone in a more powerful position can get the message and really helps her get through the current predicament. She deserves much better than what she’s getting right now !
