Anna Shcherbakova

Not a clean SP, but still first. Moreover, she is clearly the most talented and skilled in terms of TES in the event, so no worries for a first place finish.

Anna really looked tired yesterday. But despite the problems, she's first and that's amazing. Hopefully the FP will go smoothly and we will see her at JGPF...:cheer::pray:

Anna even received +0,03 PCS more than in Bratislava. She skated with her usual grace even after the fall as if nothing had happened. It is so admirable how these tender nice girls have such a strong will

Bringing here my post from the competition event..
It broke my heart to see Anna falling, the long flight and different time zone might have affected her.

I've read some comments about her musicality and I totally agree with them..even immediately after her fall, when she was a little out of sync, she recovered very quickly and it did not seem rushed or anything, she just feels the music and instinctively synchronizes her moves with it. Also she kept her smile, and the performance was as beautiful as ever, she is really a pro. :luv17:

There was a slip on the lutz, but it was a quad and still so impressive. Everything else was flawless, and her artistry was great. She completely embraced the character. At the kiss and cry, she and Daniil seemed very happy.

She got first overall, another gold for her!! Well done Anna! [emoji123][emoji7][emoji847]

Looking at the protocol, does anyone else feel like Anna was robbed of a better score as compared to everyone else? I can’t see how that 4Lz was called as underrotated. And she had edge calls on both flips, while other girls with actual outside edges on their flips got away with no edge calls.

Oh well, she’s in first place anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter too much?

Bravo bravissimo just wonderful from Anna. Anna Sasha and Alina turn pro in a couple of years it's just going to be unbelievable especially with all the good veterans the Russian ladies have. They really could have like six of the top 10 lady skaters in 2 or 3 years and maybe eight of the first 15. Anna could be the best of them all.

I agree with you. I thought the judges seemed unfair to Anya in both programs, but wasn’t sure because the viewers do not see as judges. I’m glad someone else feels that way. I would have scored her differently in SP and FS and do feel as she was robbed. In my eyes, most of the panel did not see things clearly

Flips also have clear inside edge - but were marked as flat. Whereas Taranova's clear flat edge on flip wasn't marked. It's a shame that technical controllers now trying to manipulate scores instead of usual GOEs role in that. It seems somebody really wanted to limit her scores/put Tarakanova in first? 0_0

I watched Anna's FS again.

I feel that JGPF in Canada will be painful. :sarcasm:
I'm ready to chip in and buy the glasses for a technical panel and judges.
