Anna Shcherbakova

Exquisite poise as always.

Denis Gladkov.

Looks like she's taped her knees for support, which is a good idea. A little bit of injury prevention goes a long way.

Anya seemed really disappointed in herself today. 🙁
I guess she was feeling so much pressure to maximize the team's points and thought that they might lose because of her.

She was amazing as always and I'm glad that everything turned out well in the end. This girl deserves all the best things in the world ❤️🥺

Anna is a perfectionist. Just two mistakes not so big considering the whole value of the program, but she surely thinks of it as a failure (esp. the +Lo combo - it looked as if her blade got stuck in the ice). I wish her victory at worlds.:cheer:

Hmmm, I think she was just tired.. she didn't think exactly in the best shape... but another wonderful performance none the less! 🥰
I thought she was sad because there was a moment during Daria Usachyova's skate when they showed the team cam and Daria Pavlyushenko was hugging Anya and it looked like she was comforting her.

I agree it was a lovely performance, even with the small mistakes 🙂 and it was good to see Anya happy in the end.

The good news is that today we got confirmation that she is, in fact, a human.
I was beginning to think she was a robot.

But, today may do more good than harm. Everyone, rightfully, has jumped on the Valieva bandwagon. And Anna is in the background, where she can quietly do her thing in the shadows.

Do you really think that a competitor like Anna can be counted out?

Edit: and I wrote all the above before I realized that she, after all that, still had the second best FS score in the competition.
