Anna Shcherbakova

I probably won’t tell anything new to those who watched the broadcast of the First Channel Cup, but still:

Anya's nose bled when she finished her performance. Eteri personally wiped her face with a napkin. Before that, she made some remarks to Anya about the skating, but I could not hear it. Yagudin then asked what Tutberidze was dissatisfied with, and Anna said: "We discussed minor problems." In addition, Yagudin reminded Anna that she fell from a jump during the warm-up. In response, she said, smiling: "There were no falls, you saw it - clean skating"

This time, about five or six giant ladybugs were thrown onto the ice for Anna instead of bears. Fans have not forgotten the stage of the Grand Prix in Italy. She picked one up and I examined it - I think I saw the same one in the IKEA store when it was still open.

A little later, Anya, answering the question of why her nose bled, said that there was nothing wrong with that, and this had already happened to her in training.

Well, the saddest thing is that when asked about her future career, Anna replied that little depends on her here, and it is not yet clear when "this confusion" will end. She said that now the season is over, she just wants to rest for now, and only in preparation for the next season the situation can clear up.

I don’t know, but for some reason these ladybugs give me some little hope. Maybe it will still get better.

Even before the war started, I thought that Anna more than anyone else in Russian women's skating would benefit the most by focusing on getting a good education rather than on focusing on their skating career. A high level skater can likely support themselves latter on by doing some kind of coaching. Someone like Anna I feel like has broader and likely better options.

She can try both though... but I hope she doesn't feel limited to being in Moscow with Eteri. She could keep training but pull out of all competitions until the ban on Russian athletes ends or she could be very selective in how she competes.

It was really sad not to see Anya defend her World title which she probably would have done. But at least she's Olympic champion and world champion last year. Annawan world's at 16 Olympics at 17 and hopefully wins world's next season at 18. But a few things have to happen to even allow her and Russia compete in figure skating internationally next season and let's hope those things happen.

And in an 11 months span Anna won her first world title and her first Olympics. I hope Anna can let go and relax for a little while now that the season's over it will be very important for her to get the proper amount of rest

Happy 18th birthday Anna! I hope she celebrates with friends and family. Mafia too. ;)

Happy Birthday, sweetest and mightest Champion! :bsplit::yahoo::thank:

Well I think I've seen her at every competition (one with my own eyes) since she returned to ice after she broke her leg and I certainly hope to see many more. It has been the most enjoyable ride and lately I'm not even nervous when she skates because she became strong Captain Anna!:cheer2::thank:

Wow it's only just now hitting me that our beloved Anya is 18. How time flies.

She has accomplished so much, under extremely difficult circumstances, yet always held her head up and never caused public drama or trouble for others - only the contrary.

I wish her the happiest of birthdays, and the best for her future as an adult. I know that no matter what she chooses to do with her life, it will be exciting, meaningful and successful!

Thank you so much to Anya for all the joy and happiness she has brought to me (and I'm sure many others here)! I hope she gets that in return tenfold today.
