But Lee Ann Womack turned out to be a real sweetie, plus she was only in a few numbers (three?), and the cameramen didn't seem obsessed with her. And I like "I Hope You Dance" very much.
Maybe Scott Hamilton read what people had to say about his last year's performances, because he really skated this time. And not bad at that. Quite well actually.
I especially liked his footwork.
Brian Orser is a sweetie, too, but didn't really skate so much (in terms of substance in a program).
I really liked Todd, Alexei, Ina & Zimmerman (they skated the fun number they did at World Team Challenge before: "Look At Little Sister"), and Meno & Sand. My only complaint is that Alexei skated only one number (while, I think, everyone else skated two).
Btw, he resurrected his "Nutcracker" from the dead. Had to slow down at times, because the rink was smallish.
I have no idea why they showed two clips from last year's show, but I liked seeing Ilia (he skated with Kristi, btw), since I missed the show last year. But instead of seeing Nicole Bobek, I've liked to see one more of Alexei's programs, thankyouverymuch.
Katia Gordeeva was Katia Gordeeva, in general I find her kind of zzzz. But Caryn Kadavy was just a disaster.
I admire you, Idleracer, if you never tire of watching her doughnut spin. She touched the leg for a split second, and immediately released it; it looked as if she were going to lose the balance and splat. But she had a really nice dress (the gold-navy one).

There was also a recent Holiday Festival on Ice show that was taped in Toronto a few weeks ago and should be airing in the US pretty soon. I just wanted to help out anyone who has problems finding this show in their TV Guides or online today or tomorrow. Thanx for the reminder Idle! I had forgotten about it today and I gotta go set my VCR now!! LOL 
)--I would really videotape this one, guys; I thought it was awesome. I know most professional figure skating exhibitions can be cheesefests, but this one was different. They had a lot of skaters who have just recently turned pro (Yags, Todd Eldredge, Ina/Zimmerman), so the quality was way up (Eldredge is still doing a triple axel). Even the old pros were skating well (it was good to see Rosalynn Sumners skating; Scott was good, as usual). I really enjoyed this one; I would recommend it.
If my memory is correct (the first to go!), all of the live show was broadcast, nothing was left out. I think they were one skater short of the number they had last year and in order to fill a two hour broadcast they may have felt it was necessary to pull something from last year's show. I was happy they chose the number Kristi and Ilia did, too.
