Any Sasha updates?

This is so much like St. Louis 2006, when the ladies' competition centered not on what happened on the ice but behind closed doors with the situation about Kwan's bye. Everyone else including Cohen was under Kwan's shadow. To be real honest, I don't think she ever fully emerged from Kwan's shadow until Torino, post-MK WD.

Now, Spokane 2010 ladies seems to be all around "Will Cohen show up or not?" not so much "Can Rachel finally win a Nats title after two years of being the bridesmaid?" or "Can Wagner continue her good-luck streak into Nationals?" It's time for Cohen to finally perform now in front of the spotlight she's always wanted. The crowd and the ice are waiting...

I agree with those who said that Sasha needs to nail her SP to have a chance at a medal. Thursday's performance will likely seal her fate, for better or for worse.

She always was a short program skater. It was the FS that always sealed her fate, usually for worse. How many times did she win the short? A LOT!!

Bridesmaid :laugh:. What about, "Can Alissa successfully defend her first title when the pressure is higher than ever?" or "Can Caroline revamp after Skate Canada?" or "Will Mirai put her setbacks aside to show the US that the future has arrived?"

Lol. Nope. It's all eyes and ears on SASHA, which is probably better for the other skaters AND Sasha because Sash is a ham.

One would assume she'd arrive Tuesday evening if she's really coming. Do we have any Sasha-lookouts posted at the Spokane airport? Staking out the hotels? Will we hear "breaking news" shortly from So. California about a grizzled old skating coach forcibly dragging a tiny woman onto a plane and handcuffing her to the seat?

:chorus::rofl::clap: Post of the thread!

I fully expect TMZ to cover Sasha's exit from the terminal at the airport. Well-I hope some fans are there to cover it via cell phone! ;)

 OMG that is hilarious!!!:chorus::laugh: as long he gets her there thats all that matters:yes:

:agree:

The other night one of the stations reran the CSI where Sasha had a role as an ice skater. The show ended with her skating to a romantic song. What a lovely performer she is. I hope that rerun wasn't the only view we get of her this week!

It occurs to me that the focus on Cohen this week could actually be a benefit to the other ladies. It could take some of the stress and nerves away from the other competitors. Let's hope this ensures that people like Czisny skate their routines without crumbling under the pressure.

Apparently this guy was seen having dinner with Mr Nicks last evening:

He has joined Team Sasha and his primary job will be getting Sasha on the plane and escorting her to Spokane. ;)

Is Mr. Nicks really going to fly back to California just to "fly Sasha to Spokane."? Will she not board the plane on her own free will? She is a big girl now Mr. Nicks..just stay in Spokane and wait for her like the rest of us.

Why are you so concerned about Mr. Nicks flying out to get Sasha? Are you paying for his ticket? Both of them are adults and I suppose they know what they are doing.

I just thought it was funny that he has to go down and get her, as if she would not come otherwise!

Mr Nicks said after the Pairs event he was flying back to LA and would be working with Sasha in LA and then on Tuesday evening he would be flying with her to Spokane.

I think it is a nice gesture on his part and shows how close the two of them are.

With all of the comments here - negative and positive - this is it for her. She missed her chances earlier this season and even though I am a Sasha fan it is not too hard to imagine how much pressure she will be under to deliver a couple of great programs in Spokane.

Forget all of the silly/stupid talk about favoritism and the "committee."
Sasha knows what the deal is. There will be no favoritism or second chances.

She will either outskate the others or go home. It is amazing to me how many comments have been made here saying "Sasha will get this, or Sasha will be GIVEN that."

What nonsense and there is no doubt in my mind that US Skating will be fair about this.
