Do his parents travel with him to competitions? I saw a clip from GPF with Daniil Samsonov's mother nervously pacing outside while her son competed. Are Artur's parents as worried about him?

The Ice Fly is a stronger boot, supposedly lighter weight. I guess it's supposed to break down less with the more difficult jumps but see, I'm not a skater. I guess it's whatever they're comfortable in because you can do quads in Concerto. Ic3Rabbit knows a lot about this stuff, (s)he would know.

The look. I only noticed because I saw Roman Sadovsky's VLOG on this topic last year, then I went and tried to identify all my favs boots and blades (fun times). I agree with him, the Ice Fly/Piano models are butt ugly. Or at least the Piano's are, Ice Fly less so.

Artur has had these Ice Fly for a year, I'm not sure what happened to his Ice Fly's from last December when he announced he had new boots https://photos.app.goo.gl/xYs8bb9B2TPANKnU6 but at his next competition and thereafter, he was still in Concerto only switching in Oct (?). I did say once I was nosy, and I like to screenshot stuff because you never know. LOL!

Ted said Artur was on a lean on the takeoff but he did a nice salchow in the warm-up! Said he leaned too far on the steps too, too far back on the blade, heel caught and he fell. Well, at least Ted is positive and can give some analysis! Don't want to repeat what TAT said, she is not on #TeamDanielian for sure. (ETA: Yay, someone uploaded Ted!)

This is all, I'm sure, a learning experience, his time will come! Good luck to him tomorrow, it's a new day!

I learned after JW, that boys are going to be boys, best to go with the flow and not with the negative Besides, the Russian boys/men get it so much from the "experts"/fans in Russia, best not add to that!

And I hope you guys saw those videos because they have now been blocked! Channel 1 and NBC are so ruthless! LOL!

Danielian sets the task to win the championship of Russia among juniors

The Russian figure skater Artur Danielian said at the end of the Russian championship that he sets himself the task of winning the junior championship of the country.

The championship of Russia takes place on December 26-28 in Krasnoyarsk. On Friday, 16-year-old Danielian scored 253.42 points in total and is leading the tournament before warming up the strongest. The championship of Russia among juniors will be held in February in Saransk.

“Firstly, I finally showed a clean free program without serious falls like yesterday,” Danielian shared with the journalists the impression of the Russian championship.

“The championship will be remembered by me by the fact that I opened it in a short program, which showed a clean program (fp?), a warm welcome and great support. Now my task is to qualify for the world junior championship at the Russian championship from first place,” the skater added.

I’m so happy for Artur. I couldn’t believe my eyes he landed BOTH of his quads. He made me cry today (of joy of course). As much as I loved gladiator, but it looks like changing his FS was the right choice. It was so sweet to see how he followed the other skaters. It’s almost like he was embarrassed to be in the lead after Samarin had skated. What a sweetheart!

Hmm, this is when Artur knew he is in 2nd place, still he thinks his main start this season will be RJN to qualify for JW? I thought according to the rules the 2nd place finisher is a fix qualifier for Euros (and then I Ithought he has not go to RJN to qualify for JW like it happened with Adian Pitkeev and Sasha Samarin in previous years?).

He mentions that he trains other quads as well, looks like 4L is back on the practice schedule.

Artur said some insightful things in the interview. He said that he wanted to set the tone for the competition with his SP, because he thinks it’s awesome and he heard a lot of people like it. Olga and him agreed that maybe he was trying too hard.

But then in the FS, after talking with his coaches, Artur had the incentive to show that he can do the quad sals. He was so cute, he was like: ‘I do the salchows like very regularly, so I just needed to awake myself.’

Artur said that right now he is actively learning all quad jumps, except for the flip which they decided to leave for sometime.
He said that mostly, he is trying 4T and 4Lo.

He also responded in regards to the FS program change. He said that in Gladiator, he didn’t have any innate emotions, and all his expressions were ones he worked out with his coaches. The last years program, however, he said, ‘is a joy to skate’ and he can interact with the audience.

He finished by saying he isn’t sure about Euros, and the most important competition for him is the qualifier for the Russian Nationals.

Olga said that he will probably go to Euros because he placed second.
He responded with “I don’t want to expect anything in regards to Euros because anything can happen.”
