Ashley Wagner

Yes! Go Diva Wagner :hap93: :hap57: :dance3:

I'm really happy, for myself, to see LaLaLand in competition. And I believe that after the past few weeks, skating to this fresh, light and uplifting music will give Ashley an important lift for her spirits; also a refreshing change could boost her confidence. She did say she worked on LLL for months over the summer, so she should be able to pull it off. I personally feel that it will give her something to engage her mind and emotions rather than obsessing over whether she'll do her jumps in competition the way she does them in practice.

Yes, I think Ashley needed a fire to get her motivation going. I think MR was just too comfortable. After so many years competing it can be hard to get the motivation to, day in day out, train as hard as she does. I think this will give her that motivation and sense of urgency that she needs. And I have no doubt that, as she does so often, Ashley Wagner will prove all the doubters wrong.

I woke up a couple of days ago dreaming about La La Land.

Only three weeks to go ... and holiday gifts to buy, wrap, holiday celebrations to celebrate ... before we get to see Ashley's La La Land free skate! :hap93:

I can hardly wait! Here's to the Ones Who Dream. :hap10:

Ashley is Wonder Woman! Of course we fans all know that . But this artwork, skating doodles ... has her and four top US men as Five Fab Superheroes. It is awesome. Be sure and take a look!

Note: GS guidelines disallowed an acronym in the site's link. I did try to give credit where it's due, but never fear: Ashley's IG shows it.

Ashley's LaLaLand in practice

Some of her jumps seemed shaky but that is probably normal considering she's coming back from injury. The flip is looking bigger than I remember from SA. Anyway I'm sure she will pull it all out for the competition, she often does better when other doubt her. I'm already enjoying the new choreography and the music cuts that she's using. Can't wait to see how the full program looks and of course what the dress will look like too! Sending good vibes her way!

I just watched this for the second time, and I got chills, near the end when she did the long spread eagle and then the (regular, not Charlotte) spiral. :hap93: So happy. I agree with you that her 3Flip3T looks bigger and more confident! :yahoo:This program makes me happy. Sending good vibes to Ashley for tomorrow night and Friday night, that she'll do her jumps without doubting them, and perform her usual magic!

I've been following this thread for I while but I want to use my first post here to thank you for posting this link :yay: I wasn't sure if I'd like this program because I'm not a big fan of the music but she sells it so well (as always) even if this was just at practice. Also I love held spread eagles so that's an added bonus  So excited to see it in competition!

Welcome to posting in the Ashley Wagner fan forum, ayame.:hap93: I'm so glad to hear you've been following the thread for a while. You and me both, on the spread eagle!

I've been at Nationals since Monday sorry I haven't posted here sooner. Ashley just looked a little tight to me at practice on Monday but I'm so excited to see La La Land in competition. Her jump layout is the same as it has been. She skipped the spins as usual.

Yesterday she was much stronger confident and relaxed. She did her short run through and was clean. Afterwards I was able to finally meet her in person. I'm sure she's been told a million times but I thanked her for bringing her gift to skating and for giving me my second passion in life besides riding horses.

Yes. I'm concerned as well, but it would be odd to purposefully hold down a skater who is one of their most recognizable personalities. Let's hope she kills it in the free.

Thank you! :)

I agree her score was slightly... dodgy. I definitely expected there to be more than 0.03 difference in PCS between her and Bradie. I'm glad she skated well though and hopefully she'll fight back in the free

How wonderful you got to meet her, Temadd! And that was a perfect, heartfelt thank you that you gave her. I highly doubt that she gets tired of hearing that. It's Ashley's gifts, her love for skating and performing that give us all so much!

Any time you can give us more tidbits, no matter how short you need to be, please do share with us here. It gives me a sense of presence that is really nice.

I made the mistake of rewatching the top skaters and now I'm mad about Ashley's scores all over again. I hope she has a great skate tonight!

Frankly, I'm crushed by these results. I had a stress headache Wednesday night and I feel another one coming on...

I don't care what the judges say I am SO PROUD of Ashley and what she did out there! She is such a fighter and deserves much more than what they gave her. La La Land was as amazing as I expected it to be, if not more. She was on the entire time and the music and character fit her so well. One of my favorite performances she's ever done. When I saw such a low score for that program, I was crushed. I can't imagine what she's feeling right now but I am sending her all of the love in the world! :ghug:

Someone said in GS several months ago that Ashley has never been given anything by US Fed, judges ... she's had to earn everything she's ever gotten.

That is so true. The blatant underscoring of her for these past two days is ridiculous. What (idiotic) nationals judging panel scores their only World Medalist with less PCS than she's gotten internationally all season? It doesn't make sense.

But I love your first sentence, teamgoldengeese. I don't care what the judges say, I am also SO PROUD of Ashley and what she did out there! I hope we get to see La La Land again, at worlds or even at 4CC. She could go with her head held high, and prove to them again what has always been true. Ashley is a performer at heart, she's an artist with heart and soul and she's a fighter.

Note: I was almost afraid to go to the "post-mortem" pages in the US Ladies FS competition thread, but a good majority of the people posting there feel as we do. It starts around p. 108 or 110. It actually has made me feel better.

A heart full of love :luv17: to Ashley ... and to all Ashley Fans!:ghug:
