Belbin Agosto and Amelie soundtrack

OK, actually I don't know, but I read on another board that Yann Tiersen had written the music before the movie was ever made, and when he was asked to do the Amelie soundtrack he borrowed things that he had composed previously or something like that. So perhaps it could have been used in Goodbye Lenin as well.

Thanks for the links Dave! So it seems from that artice that the soundtracks are different. Still, I vaguely remember that at least some compositions were the same (I think the first and the penultimate used by Belbin and Agosto). Did someone hier see both movies and remember?

The only thing I could do is go to the videostore and rent both movies and check them.

Such things have been done before in film scoring. Rota's The Godfather was disqualified because some of it was used in a previous film. Gustavo Santaolalla incorporates his work "Iguaza" into his work often, including "Brokeback Mountain" and "Babel." But the original work wasn't used in film, that's why he was still eligible for Oscars.

Ah bit OT but that's a bit of trivia for you.
