Hi all,

I’m asking this primarily as I’m wanting to try and budget for my next pair and ensure I have enough saved up before I travel for a fitting. I also apologise if I’ve put too much detail in!

A bit about me: have been skating since the end of Nov, but before had a bit of prior experience from when I was younger on a plastic ‘rink’.

Currently working on forwards crossovers, backwards one foot glides, and working at about uk lts level 3 for other things

I am 5’11” 75kg, I overpronate pretty badly, and also have pretty weak and narrow ankles which I’m working on strengthening.

My foot shape is Egyptian/stretched foot with a hammer toe on each side to boot, with fairly narrow heels compared to the ball of my feet.

My one foot glides on my left foot also tend to swerve in towards the right, and I wear custom insoles, as I also do in my normal ‘street’ shoes.

My current skates are Risport Antares size 275 with the blades that came with (think it was a Graf one) they do have a bit of life left in them but I know it won’t be for very long, and could likely do with a slight size down too. I got them fitted for me locally about a month and a half ago.

I skate 3 times a week for about 1.5 hours a time, one of those sessions including a 30 min group lesson.

My aims are to eventually be able to do spins and maybe a few single jumps.

I am leaning towards looking at a RF3 pro boot with a coronation ace blade, is this a good option for me, or are there other better options I should consider more?

I am based in Scotland and planning on heading to Everglides in March when I have time off work.

Hi and welcome! Do you feel like the Risport boots fit your feet ok? Or is there too much room in the heel area where your foot gets very narrow? If you definitely have an Egyptian shaped foot, I would suggest looking at the Risport Royal Pro b/c they are more shaped for that type of foot. The RF line is wider for Roman/Greek shaped feet. You can also look at Riedell Bronze Star as well as Edea Chorus.
