Also hoping that he is the confirmed 2nd new skater of Brian's 1-2 that he said he was willing to take on.
If he goes to TCC, we expect to hear though that he's spending lots of time with Tracy Wilson on skating skills at first.
She's known to take on skating skills when new skaters arrive. Lubov Ilyushechkina has been quoted about Tracy making her relearn cross-cuts when she came from Russia to skate for Canada.
While Brian Orser would be the primary coach, TCC is very much a team. When he travels for one skater, there are other elite coaches who keep the training program on track.
There is even one specialist who does nothing but coach spins to make sure all their elite skaters have level 4s.
Yep! Tracy handles SS, Ghislain is the jump coach (the improvements in SS could easily throw off his jump technique like it did for Yuzuru his first season with Brian and Tracy, so he could help if that happened), Paige handles spins, and I'm blanking on the harness coach's name. Lee seems to handle more of the juniors alone or with Brian; it's suspected the other new skater at TCC, Conrad Orzel, a Canadian junior, is probably being coached by Lee.
I suspect that quote was about 1-2 _full-time skaters_ under Brian as the sole or first named coach of a duo, though ofc I absolutely could be wrong. Since Javi is almost certainly staying on for an abbreviated season (1-2 Challengers and Europeans have been mentioned as a possibility), that means Brian already has got one more skater than his alleged upper limit of 4-6 skaters for the coming season (limit mentioned by his friend Doug Haw): Stephen, Shingo, Junhwan, Elizabet, Evgenia, Yuzuru, and Javier. He also coaches Gabby but Lee is listed first, so I am not counting her here as that may mean Lee does the bulk of the head coaching for her.
For now it sounds like a short term, probable summer visit by Boyang and his coach to Brian and co. Perhaps once Javier retires fully (the season after next?) Brian might decide he could take on another person, which could be Boyang (so the short term thing easily could be a test run), or he might take in someone else like Wakaba, who Ambesi heard was going to Brian earlier (it's not impossible she's coming for next season, just less likely with Evgenia just being taken on--perhaps W wanted to wait until after she graduates before moving, or Ambesi was given wrong info, etc). Or, if Brian finds things too much even with Javi leaving, he might not take anyone in as a full-timer at all. A sad thing, but I'd totally respect him for that.
