Boyang Jin

Well translated.

I assume this is pertaining to Lori's visit and work in Beijing. My understanding is that Zijun left Coach Li and returned to train in Beijing while Han stays in LA with Pang Qing. This should be discussed in her thread though.

You're right, this thread is about Boyang:biggrin:
I'm really looking forward to his programms! I imagine his 4lz-3toe combo would be amazing to this spiderman music:

Spiderman! How exciting and unique subject it sounds. :)

The silly gestures a la Chaplin are obviously meant for his LP to La Strada, not SP.

Now I'm curious about this Spiderman program. Sounds fun

I got a glimpse of his FS and I have to say that I'm no fan of the la steada costume ...:noshake: those striped arms looks just as ridiculous as Nam's costume to la strada.... I just hope the programm is good enough to overshadow the costume ...

Thanks to those who posted the twitter clip of Boyang's SP/LP and the funny dance (he loves dancing, it will bade well in figure skating!).

I am not worried whether the music suits him,etc from a few of the discussions here, I believe Boyang can perform to whatever is asked of him.

From what I could see from the video clips, I am MOST impressed with the extension of arms/legs, longer glide on the edge, bigger movement of the body across the ice - just great!! that would at least put him closer to Hanyu, Javier and even Chan on the PC marks. Those broad, extended and held movements would make his skating look a lot more mature and definitely a lot less juniorish. For that, Lori has done an excellent job!

Only a few more days before SA. Super excited to see his new programs and his improvements. :hap10: Though I bet for his third place (in another thread) I do hope he place higher. :hap10:

My bet is on Boyang to win this!!

Yes, it is a so-called 'star studded' event with a number of big names appearing, but he has the best consistency of jumps. PLUS, with new choreography from Lori he is going to look great!

His choreography looks just like the choreography for Mr. Han Yan. But he lands his jumps so he will get good PCS I think.

Oh boyang... that sp ...
first the positives: people including me love the sp - the music, the shimmy shoulders, better spins.
I have to admit I was careful with getting my expectations too high before skate america, because I haven't seen a single clean quad from boyang this summer. Then I heard his coaching team say that the plan was for him to improve in ss, choreo etc. And then incorporate the technical goods with it. Therefore I'm also not too surprised, though I hoped it would turn out better. The most important thing is: Boyang, you may have fallen on every jump in your sp and you may not be physically fully trained, but you have very very good technique on your jumps. That means, if you work hard, and only then, you definetly will get your jumps back. Also, last season I saw how much you loved to compete - don't loose that. Great competitors thrive under pressure. Don't become afraid of doing somethig wrong or falling. Be active and try to do everything right. I wish you the best for the LP (and scrap that hilarious LP costume I saw in a video a few days ago).! Go Boyang!

I enjoyed his sp. The jumps were a mess, but that's not an issue as we know he has them, just not today.

I enjoyed his attempts at personality, at trying to get into the ice more, moving down low to the ice, engaging the audience... all things that needed improvement. I actually was smiling during this program and I didn't do that last year when he skated. It was engaging and displays how he's trying to improve in the non jumps part of his skating. He is moving in the right direction.

I think the SP is really good, it has a great potential and public really liked it. As per jumps- perhaps falls were caused by jetlag? His axis was sooooooo wrong I was really surprised. Actually if he does his LP clean then he can really get a medal because how much is there to catch up- 17 points? It's like one successful 4Lz+3T for him. Piece of cake.

Yes, we in the audience loved it. When he started shimmying in front of the audience, that section lost.....their.....minds!!!! The same with his shooting spiderwebs. Everyone loved it. Like I totally forgot about the jump errors and just enjoyed the program. Loved his costume too.

Maybe tonight he was just nervous because he had no problem landing all his jumps in all the practice sections and right before he started skating he landed a nice 3a :confused2: Oh well, just a bad day at the office. The most important thing for me is that he did not give up on the performance. He sold that program all the way to the nosebleed seats!

The head bobble was cute too
