Boyang Jin

Belated congratulations to Boyang on winning his second World bronze medal in a row!

I rewatched Boyang's SP and noticed that one of the judges made a big smile at him in the slomo and of course the audience looked really entertained by Boyang and his program. He is such a cutey.

looking forward to the WTT to see more of Boyang's funny side :luv17: until now some from the past:

- Boyang getting seriously hit by a plushly not once but twice:

also some updates from Zijun's instgramm:

Boyang trying to jump clockwise - that's what I call pre-rotation:laugh:

Boyang flapping his arms around. In the background you can hear someone say: Boyang's turned dumb again. :laugh2:

this reminds me of the story that Lori learned some simple sentences in Chinese for Boyang to better understand her. And her very limited vocabulary contained the sentence: Boyang turned crazy again, lol.

Here's some photos I took of Boyang at World's in Helsinki

Such a crowd-pleaser... his programs are such good fun... plus, he delivered when it mattered, and made it onto the podium for the 2nd year in a row - against a monumentally tough field.

Good luck in the FS at WTT, and can't wait to see what he brings next season...

Just saw Boyang's results at WTT 2017, I am not happy that Boyang is 1 point below Nathan Chen in both PC and TES. To me, in the PCs they should both be in the same marks. Just annoyed by that! :angry1:

Haven't watched the skates yet on youtube, if they both skated the same, then Boyang's 4 Lutz is far superior than Nathan's.

Someone here has something to say? Boyang fans only needed to reply. Thanks.

I think it's pretty stupid to complain and criticize a score without seeing the skates. It makes the impression that you just wanted to complain with no reason. I do completely understand that you feel frustrated about Boyang's PCS that come so hard, while other skaters have coaches and federations to politick for them, but in this case the scores were OK. Also, with his personality Boyang does pretty well selling and advertising for himself.
Patrick, Hanyu and Shoma only got 45-46 in pcs. Therefore a 41 for Boyang is pretty fair. Nathan has better SS and posture than Boyang (and most importantly showed these today and wasn't as stiff as at worlds) and skated perfectly.
Personally, I think showmanship, interpretation and presentation should just score as high as SS, but it's never been that way (except for Javier). So I don't find the scores today unfair, even though I generally do think that Nathan's PCS especially in the Long has been too high at 4cc, US nats and GPF. But no need to complain about that at a fluff competition with no impact at all.
I also looked at the protocols and the GOE's given to both Boyang and Nathan today were very fair. Boyang even got higher GOE's for his spins and steps sequence than Nathan. The one point difference comes from negative GOE of that botched Axel. So no complaints about the TES difference neither.
If you want to complain about something, you could start with Zijun's scores ...

boyang looked a bit tired but still fought hard and gave a great FS performance 💖

so proud of him, that was great expression of character! thank you for making me smile!

Boyang was very tired today at WTT FS. He was rubbing his eyes just before his skate. Personally thought he shouldn't have come to WTT after the Worlds.

I thought he looked tired during his skate, too - but I don't think WTT results have any impact on next season.. it's really a fluff event and I guess he was here to have fun and meet skaters. None of the top guys (except for Nathan maybe who wanted to proof himself) looked in top shape and I doubt anyone trained hard for this event. Although Boyang stumbled in his FS a lot, I was still astonished that his TES were over 90 at the end. Just shows how much his BV really is.

I'm just rewatching his FS right now. He does look tired, but he always strikes me as being happy that he's at the party. :luv17: He seemed to really be enjoying his team performances in the K & C. I like that Ryan Bradley on NBC SN said, "Just when you think he's completely out of gas, he does a 3A, 1/2 Lo, 3S." Hope he rests up a little in the off season and comes back strong. Congratulations to him for his successes in his second year.
