I actually don't know too many choreographers that I like! I don't really keep up with them.
Lori Nichols has done a good job masking his weaknesses... But I think she should stop masking them and start challenging him. She made beautiful programs for S/H.
Shae Lynn Bourne has done a good job with Nathan Chen. She brings out the best in him, and gave him a cool style to work with, which suited him more than his ballet pieces the previous season.
Sandra Bezic also has the same approach as Shae Lynn Bourne, where she lets the natural style speak for itself.
David Wilson would not be a good fit. He is pretty adamant about his stylings. Yuna worked wonders with him, but I think it was because it was a perfect fit. And I still wonder what could have been if she'd worked with Shae Lynn or Sandra.
For Boyang's style -- I just don't know what "his" style is! He did the athletic style of his SPs this season and the previous one really, really well. But I'd like him to inject more power into it. He needs to open up his upper body and really create some volume with the way he moves. He had a lot of success with his SP StSq this season, but it could've been even better with more commitment.
I don't want to limit himself to "funny" programs, so it's nice to see him trying something different. A good thing about him is that he hasn't molded himself into a specific style like Shoma already has, so he can feel free to try more. Maybe he can try some hip-hop -- he actually has good musicality. He can try something completely dark and serious next season for his LP.
I also think that he can really mold his style into something with power, yet with a lot of flow. This seems to be a signature style for Chinese pairs with Sui/Han and Shen/Zhao. If he improves his flow further, he can do something more modern. Or maybe, if he wants to do a light-hearted program, he can do a Broadway tune, like "Zing! Go the Strings of my Heart" or something.
Or maybe skate to some EDM! That would be something really new, and he can add power to it.
He can keep the nerdiness for his EX programs. Or dance to something he likes there.
