Looked to me almost as if it should be included in gymnastics as one more event -- acrobatic floor routine or some such title . Impressive athleticism and myriad ways to injure yourself quite badly.I have rewatched the gold medal match up
GOSH I LOVE THIS SPORT !!!!! and especially Phil Wizard!
I am sad this won't be in LA... and I wonder why considering Breakdancing was born in the USA. SIGH
I'd remove so many sports before this oneLooked to me almost as if it should be included in gymnastics as one more event -- acrobatic floor routine or some such title . Impressive athleticism and myriad ways to injure yourself quite badly.
With a touch of ballroom dance thrown in. Ballroom competitions also have all the entrants on the floor at the same time for each of the dances, improvising with that dance's steps to music they haven't heard until that moment.
I expected to be rather scornful of breaking as an Olympic sport, but I was wrong. I admit I was impressed, and think it should be reinstated two Games from now.
I wish they'd cut down on the number of races of different lengths, on the track and in the pool, and the number of chances to win a medal in gymnastics. I'm not impressed by Z being "the most decorated Olympian with x medals", when Z has x opportunities to win multiple medals but other athletes have just one. Your list is probably similar to mine.I'd remove so many sports before this one
.should I share my list or it is overkill?
I disagree with this though as a former swimmer, I can tell you that the person doing a 400 IM is definitely not the same doing a 100 freestyle... But I'd get rid of horses, guns and bows for starters....(and the boxing gloves)I wish they'd cut down on the number of races of different lengths, on the track and in the pool, and the number of chances to win a medal in gymnastics. The horses might agree. I've read that Ian Millar said he and Big Ben never won an Olympics medal because Ben liked the spotlight and felt the Olympics was too crowded with other attractions. Took the attention off him and he was miffed.I disagree with this though as a former swimmer, I can tell you that the person doing a 400 IM is definitely not the same doing a 100 freestyle...
