BTW for those of us who can't be at Sheffield to see Lilah & Lewis's programs in full, we haven't got too long to wait, they will be competing at the Autumn International in Canada mid-September which will have livestreaming. :hap10::cheer2:

British Qualifiers -Day 1 Senior Ice Dance Rhythm Programme

Brianne Reher/Christopher Bland - 27.60
Sasha Fear/George Waddell - 67.77
Eleanor Hirst/Anthony Currie - 47.45 - Fabulous costumes - great programme - a wonderful skate
Lilah Fear/Lewis Gibson - 78.07 - another FUN programme and the costumes are AMAZING! A really cracking first outing for this new routine - it will be absolutely brilliant!
Charlotte Man/Toby Palmer - 30.16

More tomorrow....

British Qualifiers Day 2 (I only saw part of the event, i.e. Senior Ice Dance, Senior Men, and Advanced Novice Pairs

Senior Ice Dance:

Charlotte Man/Toby Palmer - segment score 58.06; total score 85.60

Brienne Reher/Christopher Bland - segment score 62.33; total score 92.49

Eleanor Hirst/Anthony Currie - Queen mix - more fabulous costumes for this pair - (apparently, their costumes were made by Bronze medallist Nina Povey); super programme - I think they may be coached by Mark Hanretty; segment score 74.96; total score 122.21

Sasha Fear/George Waddell - Nutcracker mix - this programme really suited them - segment score 103.24; total score 171.01

Lilah Fear/Lewis Gibson - Lion King - absolutely gorgeous costumes (again) for these two - whoever has been making their costumes over the past few seasons is a genius. Loads of amazing elements, I think I spotted a slight bobble on one but otherwise a fantastic programme. Lewis's skating, in particular, looks to me noticeably stronger. Segment score 121.67; total score 199.74.

Advanced Novice Pairs

Only one pair - Lucy Kay/Kyle McLeod - good job - a clean skate, nicely done - segment score 38.03; total score - 60.15

Senior Men

Elliott Thompson - segment score - 89.31; total score 145.71

Graham Newberry - segment score 122.35; total score 194.03. He had problems with quite a few of his jumps today.

**Sightings of Robin Cousins and Christopher Dean!**

What do the costumes look like? I was interested to see what direction they would do in.

Thanks again for your impressions @Ruthypegs I must say Queen seem to have been the most popular choice of music across all disciplines going by the clips I've seen on Instagram. That is a nice fun fact Nina Povey making the costumes for Eleanor & Anthony, and they look gorgeous.

Edward Appleby takes Britain's second-ever JGP medal (and first since 1998). His jumps look pretty good, even if the last few got away from him, so there looks like a solid framework to build on there going ahead (program components need work, but this is junior men, that's nothing new; when you have the jumps you can get the other stuff).

Actually, wait, there were two other medals that I missed, so not quite since 1998, but it's been 19 years since McCorkell's.

That’s why I love JGP, because even if the country doesn’t particulate much in seniors, the young talent can show up. Grats to Appleby!

Edward was awesome, his 3A+3T after his step out was so impressive!

@Ruthypegs I’m so jealous you got to go to Sheffield! I just got a new job where I’m self employed so I couldn’t even keep track of everything going on :(

I know Coomes and Buckland did a Lion King FD in 2011.
I had completely forgotten about that!! Well remembered @DSQ (y)

Also Lilah had a previous Lion King FD in her Junior days with her partner Jacob Payne.
Saying/writing Fear & Payne always used to make me

I think this is all the more impressive given the fact that rink closures across the UK have been so disruptive and unfair - a great example that this is most definitely a sport and not leisure, despite what the UK gov would like people to think.

Looking through the remaining #JGP Entry Lists for #TeamGB skaters:
Kosice - Ice Dancers who just won the Qualifier, Sophia Bushell & Alex Lapsky
Krasnoyarsk - Elena Komova (Coached by Phil Harris)
Ljubljana - Freddie Liggott, Arabella Sear-Watkins, Phebe Bekker & James Hernandez (Coached by Penny & Nick in Philly at Icehouse)
Gdansk - TBC

Bring it on! :hap10: :cheer2::)
