British National Championships, 26-30 November 2025

You're most welcome! 🤗 I saw that video to a Snow Patrol song, but I'd forgotten about the photo! I hope Marilena appreciated her special gift.

Awww, thank you for the kind words.

Also welcome back to my twitter page. 👍 🖐️ I see Torvill & Dean were in Belfast last Friday for Mary Peter's Trust 50th Anniversary as guest speakers. Thankfully the Belfast Telegraph covered it, but I had to wait till the weekend to see the video and photos which initially were behind a pay wall.

Oh, I hadn't heard about that. Thank you for the heads up.

It seems like there can never be enough of Loren Allred. Never! Never!

Two girls in a row skating to "Never Enough". :rolleye:

The first, YOU Yi Yi (Nottingham) went into 9th position. The second, Sofia OLIVER (Whitley Bay) went into 28th position.

Thank goodness the next skater has something different.

That's it for the Basic Novices until we get to the Dancers on Saturday. We now finish the day with the first Advanced Novice competition. A group of 3 boys doing their SP. Including one boy that we have already seen today.

After winning the 🥇 Gold Medal earlier in Basic Novice Pairs, William SANDELANDS (Oxford) is back now to do his Advanced Novice Men's Short Programme.

It is always impressive when somebody skates in two categories at the same event, never mind doing it on the same day.  :points:

William SANDELANDS (Oxford) goes into 2nd position.

Incidentally, his Pairs partner, Ellie-May COLEY, is not competing in Singles at Nationals.

Right, skating is over for the day, so it is time for food.

I'll pause the stream just in case there are Podium Ceremonies coming up.

I'm not sure whether I'll be here from the start tomorrow. I haven't had a good look at the schedule for the Bosphorus Cup yet, to decide which to concentrate on.

Basic Novice Pairs medal ceremony very shortly.

Lewis McDonald in 2nd Advanced Novice Boys SP played Christopher Dean in the Scottish and some Northern dates of Torvill & Dean's Our Last Dance Tour during the Spring. His Mother & Coach Suzanne Otterson is a former British Ladies Champion who competed at Europeans a couple of decades ago.

Just came back, and the video is now unavailable.

Well, I knew it was going to happen. I just wasn't expecting it to happen so soon.

Right, I'm going to have to really think things out for the rest of the week. Because for skating, I was planning on concentrating on the Bosphorus Cup.

And then there's the penultimate round of the Formula 1 too! Why did Liberty have to extend the calendar a few years ago?! It should be over by now!

Day 1 livestream is already blocked on music copyright grounds on YouTube. So sadly if you were at work all day or in education, and wanted to go home and watch, it's already disappeared from view. 🥺

As I suspected any recording has to be made live or the opportunity is gone. Obviously once the Junior and Seniors begin I can hopefully kick into action.

When are they finally going to provide starting orders for Junior Women SP? I am going to watch them tonight but from 2:00 p.m. till 5:30 I will have a power cut so I won't be able to print starting orders.

This website is more up to date and looks like it has the start order

It's under the categories drop down

Yeah, it looks like the traditional Entries / Results page is getting reserved for putting the results up on once the event is over.

As I said in the British & Irish thread, I really like the separate livescoring page that is used for the British events. It includes so much more information than the traditional Entries / Results pages.

However, I do miss the Time Schedule PDF's for each segment. They are so useful for planning things out if you are not able to watch LIVE, or if you can only watch some of it. If they got included on one or other of the pages, it would be perfect!

I'm currently watching the Advanced Novices at the Bosphorus Cup, but am planning on switching over to the British Championships once the action starts in Sheffield in an hour from now. At least with the Turkish stream there is a good chance it will be archived, whereas we know the British stream won't.

Day 2 is starting now with an Advanced Novice double-bill, and then finishes with the Junior Ladies SP.

We start with 22 Advanced Novice girls doing their SP, then have 3 Advanced Novice boys doing their FS, then 19 Junior girls doing their SP.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Ladies SP is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

All the other information you may need can be found in the OP of this thread.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

Now this is interesting music that skater #5 Lola REAY (Whitley Bay) is skating to. It sounds Middle Eastern. But then after a while you realise that you are actually listening to a re-mix of "Habanera" from "Carmen"!

Bond - "Señorita"

She goes into 4th position.

Now that was enjoyable! Skater #7 Emily MORGAN (Kirkcaldy) was skating to "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. We need more music like that!

Needless to say what colour of dress she was wearing! ;)

She is happy!

She goes into 7th position.

Resurfacing now. But coming back 4 minutes early at quarter to the hour.

Under normal circumstances, I would be going to have my dinner now. But I need to finish my Tallinn Trophy Predictions!

We're back!

They're playing B*Witched!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

That was different. Skater #14 Nicole BRENNAN (Magnum) was doing an "Aladdin" programme. But she wasn't wearing a Princess Jasmine sky blue dress. She was wearing a grey-ish white dress. And it looked well.

Also, the choices of songs were different to what we usually get. Naomi Scott's "Speechless" (from the live-action version), followed by an orchestral instrumental version of "A Whole New World".

Funnily enough, I was watching a Naomi Scott film on Monday. The 2019 version of "Charlie's Angels". Definitely far better than the films from the early 2000's. (But still not as good as the original TV series, which I have been watching for the past month or two).

Anyway, Nicole goes into 11th position.

I really enjoyed that programme from Ukrainian girl Amelia GUMENYUK (Swindon), who was wearing a black dress with red trim.

She was skating to "Love Is A Lie" by Beth Hart, and was really going for it!

Unfortunately she had a fall, but on the whole I LOVED IT!!!

My kid Zoe Jones sitting with her.

She goes into 5th position.

Wow! Skater #19 Kaitlyn Ngoi Kiu LEUNG (Guildford) was skating to what can only be described as a rock opera version of "In The Hall Of The Mountain King".

And yes, it sounded as good as you are imagining!

Big music for a little girl, but, she pulled it off.

She goes into 7th position.
