Bush -Kerry Debate 9/30

I don't think that's what we're doing. I don't think Dubya is stupid. What he does is what we described.

Dubya appeals to many people. Just because I don't see the appeal doesn't mean that appeal is not there. Just because Dubya looked like he was auditioning for Dumb and Vladumber in that debate does not mean he will not win the election.

Dubya reminds me of the old engineering saying, "For every difficult, complex problem, there is a simple, easy to understand, wrong solution." Even in that results-oriented world, many people would get behind the guy with the wrong solution because he had conviction, and he was easy to understand.
Unfortunately, that way leads to disaster in engineering.

I was joking.

Joesitz once again I agree totally with what you said. And I also knew who I was voting for prior to watching this debate so I was prejudiced. So I was very happy to see the media also proclaiming Kerry as the winner. I have a hard time understanding those people who still support Bush and who are still planning on voting for him, it is beyond my comprehension actually. I have to restrain myself from bashing Bush too much, but in a nutshell, he really is an embarassment to our country.

I have said this before that this election is one of the most important in my lifetime. I wanted to watch with sincerity that I could cross over lines and vote against my party but after watching the debate, I am firmly staying with my party. I actually thought it was just me that was irritated by the President's behavior. I have tried very hard over the last 4 years to like the man or even just respect him but his arrogance always gets in the way. I think one of the most arrogant things he did was refer to President Putin as Valdemir. That was not the setting to be so friendly. Another time was when asked what he thought of Senator Kerrey and he uh, um, uh well, he's a good dad, uh, um, he's been nice to my daughters, uh, um that's about it. What arrogance!!!

from pennyfromheaven I have a hard time understanding those people who still support Bush and who are still planning on voting for him, it is beyond my comprehension actually.

I could agree with you more.

and to the whole world that such a 'leader' could have such powers to invade another country without cause. Hail Caesar and Hail Hitler.

Singalto, I'm sorry that I didn't understand your joke. Frankly, 'misunderestimating' Dubya is one of my biggest fears.
I think Gore &co. did that last time.

I hope Edwards doesn't "misunderestimate" Cheney on Tuesday. He's a dangerous man to face in a debate (IMHO)

bronxgirl,

personally I think Edwards will be selling to the "jury," i.e. the voters and not trying to win a classic debate. He must have been good at it to have made so much money that the Republicans want to put caps on medical malpractice suits!

I actually think it's important for Edwards to be very traditional this time. The main criticism against him is that he lacks the experience. He is not running as the top spot on the ticket, so his charm is not as important as his ability to lead the country if something happens to Kerry.

Winning the "jury" for all of these debates is convincing the voters that you should be elected. I'm sure he's a good debater, it's just that Cheney gives me the creeps.

Hey bronxgirl,

Interesting that you said Cheney gives you the creeps. That's how I feel about him. He also sends icy chills. The man frankly scares me! And the thought that he is one heartbeat away from being president is enough to give one nightmares. (unless that one heartbeat missing is his own....not a cheery thought either way)

Interesting to note that VP Cheney's cardiologist has been sent into treatment for substance abuse, and his hospital privileges were suspended. He has admitted not being "forthcoming" about Cheney's health during the 2000 campaign. Now if only the current administration would allot the resources for treatment of non-violent drug offenders that his cardiologist had access too, many more people would be leading healthier, happier and more productive lives. (End of sermon)

I have always been surprised that with Cheney's health problems his doctors did not recommend less stress as part of his treatment. My mother's husband who died 2 years ago had the same type pacemaker/defib. for the last couple years of his life and even with it had a lot of limitations. Of course everyone is different :confused.

Border Collies are consistently rated as the smartest breed of dog. Pit Bulls are supposed to be loving dogs if raised and socialized properly. I guess there were some family issues here

My little Corgi is now running around the house trying to find the barking dog, LOL. She is dying to get a hold of Spike the neighborhood pitbull.
