Caroline should just stay off the ice until it heals, whether that's a week, a month or a year. Staying healthy is what's important, I don't need to see a pearl spin that badly.

Caroline seems to be still planning on skating in a show in two more weeks -- maybe now only one week left. I really hope that she doesn't skate on her injured knee and make it worse! I'll be so sad if it negatively impacts her Olympic season.
Any chance you could try to convince her otherwise?
I'm trying but she's got her team of people and family. Now she says she's still deciding. I just hope her team decides on the right thing for her. I'm sure part of it is due to funding. She has no major sponsor and she didn't get invited to guest-perform in SOI this year.

Wonderful, so Caroline has to rip her knee apart because she is short of cash.

I hate to sound shallow, but Caroline Zhang is so-o-o-o-o photogenic I can't believe some corporate sponsor hasn't snapped her up.
Nothing against her, figure skating just isn't the go-to sport for that.. Then again, Rachael Flatt and Evan Lysacek seem to do fine. The latter being a world champion of course..
Rachel's got that Makeup company endorsement doesn't she? And Lysacek's got AT&T.
And Alyssa seems to be going strong doing some modeling on the side.
Right, I meant that Rachael and Evan seem to be able to get endorsements even though figure skaters aren't really the most popular athletes out there.

My dad's a doctor and he told me a little tear in the meniscus isn't too big of a deal if treated properly. He also said acupuncture is acceptable in such a case. I've implored Caroline to take care of herself and I'm sure many others have, too, so I hope she knows when and when not to be on the ice. I'm just concerned because from all reports Caroline's got a little bit of the crazee in her.
It's not so bad if you're on the ice all the time but training wisely; I'm not sure this is the case with Caroline. You think so?

...Kimmie! Wow, you won't believe how long it took me to think of that one. I can hazard a guess as to why you think Alissa, et al. are more attractive than someone like Caroline, but such a thought is better left unsaid.

At least the ice show is a benefit, so money is not a factor here.

Anyway, I think even for benefits shows the skaters do get some compensation, just not huge amounts like the big commercial ones.

Oh, I'm so surprised. Different strokes, as you said. I love Kristi's skating and her brief dancing career, but I would never have her anywhere near the top of a list of photogenic ladies. This is funny. Of course everyone's entitled to their own taste, but when you pasted link saying it's someone more than both Alissa and Kimmie put together, I was really curious who it might be.
By the way, I do think Alissa and Kimmie are photogenic. I also think that Caroline is photogenic when she is her natural self.Getting back to the topic. Did anyone notice how much more mature Caroline looks in PolymerBob's videos? She really looks like a young lady now. When she first burst onto the national and international scene, people used to remark that at 13 she looked 8. But now that she's just turned 16, she really looks 16. It's amazing how much she matured in the last year. I really hope she recovers from her knee soon, and has a stellar season. I am very hopeful that indeed she will have her own transformative, salome-like moment this year.
