Coaches: what did they do before?

So because it is the off-season and I am missing skating so much. I ask myself really important questions like "oh this coach, what did he do before? was he a skater? or maybe a snake-trainer?" Of course basically everybody was a skater. In my youtube wanderings I also found some footage of Mishin and Moskvina or TAT skating. And so I decided to try to compile a list of the coaches (and choreographers) I can think of and link to a video of them skating!

I have a long ago recorded vid of Yasa Nechaeva and Yuri Chesnichenko doing their gala performance at Skate Canada where they won silver circa 1990 IIRC but web vids of them are as rare as hens teeth. Perhaps some of our Russian friends have their vids.

Hmm, this is hard, I read some article a really long time ago on tumblr, she said she learned how to do choreography from Russian coaches but I don't know much else about her background

Nanami was a single skater who participated in Japanese Nationals twice, then became a pro skater. Her coach was Hiroshi Nagakubo who have coached several world medalists like Shizuka Arakawa, Takeshi Honda and Akiko Suzuki (BTW he is coaching young skaters like Rika Hongo and Sota Yamamoto now, and Akiko is his assistant). After retirement as pro skater Nanami stayed in Sendai Ice Rink to be the assistant of Nagakubo, and started choreographing. She then became one member in Shizuka's coaching team and went to Russia with her, where she learned coaching and choreographing from the Russian coaches. After the Sendai Ice Rink reopened she started to coach Yuzuru Hanyu there. This is pretty much her timeline that I know.

Many Japanese coaches were competitive skaters. I saw Yuka Sato's name listed in the first post, but let's not forget her coach and her father Nobuo Sato, who has won Japanese Nationals for 10 times!!! He was also competitive internationally, making it to the 4th at the Worlds 1965. Other known Japanese coaches who have coached the world medalists from Japan in recent decade, like Tsuguhiko Kozuka, Machiko Yamada, Utako Nagamitsu, were all single skaters active in the 60s.
